Hey everyone.. I just got the receiving sent by Mabs,
Thanks again for that Mabs!

Now for the first problem... lol

I don't have my own internet yet... Since I can't afford it..
But the owners of the building have an open wireless connection which I've been using..

Now here's the question..

Is there a way to bridge the connection from my laptop to the receiver?
It doesn't seem to want to let me do it.. And I've read that it is possible.. But not sure if I don't have access to the router.

I'm using Windows 7, and have any cable I might need.. I think..

If anyone is able to assist me here I would be appreciated!

Hi buddy,

Please refer to this guide http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?t=9016

If your using Vista use the page that says Vista if your using Xp use the page that says Xp. There are a few configurations you need to make in your pc in order for it to work. That page will assist you...after you make the changes you wil need a cross over cable from your laptop to your device to share the internet.

Good luck...Sp33d

For windows 7

1. Plug in your device and allow it to acquiring ip address.
2. click on the Windows button and type "network and sharing center" and enter
3. on the left right under manage wireless networks, should say change adapter settings click that
4. right click local area connection and disable it.
5. right click local area connection and click properties.
6. there should be a tab that says sharing go to that tab.
7. there is a box that says allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection. uncheck it if it is checked.
8.hit ok then right click local area connection and enable it.
9 now select both your wireless network connection and the local area connection and right click and it should have the option to bridge connections. when you click bridge it will do its thing and should work when its done.

The network bridge is just letting one device pass through another's network connection. No routing or NAT is needed.

You could also just enable Internet Connection Shareing (ICS), connect your receiver to your laptop with a crossover-cable and your done.......very easy to do.

Thanks for the help Speed.
I was at the post before posting here... lol
That's how I found the site to help with setting up the bridge.

But for some reason It's not giving me the option to share the connection..

LOL And as I type this I just checked again and it's there now... Very strange...
I'll work on it and keep you updated. I have all the pages I need bookmarked to do the setup and should have time to finish it after supper.

Thanks for the quick response speed!

Yup that is exactly what I was trying to do.. But for some reason the Sharing tab wasn't coming up in the properties...

But it's there now! I'll update a little later on or early tomorrow depending on how much time I have after I'm done making and then eating supper...lol

I think I'll do it this way... It seems if I do it while allowing the users to connect from my computer and not doing a straight bridge..
Setting up all the ips might be a little more complicated.(for me anyways.. lol)
I just finished doing this setup and it seems to all be ok! Or maybe not... It said that another computer is using the same IP...
I'm still new at this type of setup... But can usually figure things out after a little playing around..
But I'm hungry so I'll take a break and come back later.. lol

OK now it's time to make supper.
Thanks Mavrick and Speed!
