i doubt that that electric motor will last as long as that truck engine
Not a fair comparison wears the battery's to run it, compared to the fuel tanks.

I guess we're going to have to wait & see.I'm curious what the battery life will be in a commercial setting, as well as what the driving range will be when the batteries are 4 years old.You don't see the major transport companies jumping all over it.It's still unproven in the real world, en masse at least.

Plus the costs involved to change out the worn batteries, and How are they going to Recycle the Different components
The infrastructure is no where near ready or in-place for their Time-Line, Putting the Cart-Before-The-Horse
my neighbor had one back in 1978
what is old is new again --- LOL

Seeing as how truck drivers are legally allowed to drive up to 11 hours out of 24, an electric truck would have to be able to travel from 650 to 750 miles without recharge to be fully suitable for...

I just googled "replacement battery cost" for a 2018 Tesla model S & came up with a 12k to 15k cost. It's safe to say that electric tractors will be 4 times that.

And probably take four times as long to recharge. You need full charge in twelve hours so you can get back on the road again.

The regular charge units or home units run anywhere $5-10k, the So-Called Quick charge ones from $20-45K
They are already having Problems with the Electrical Power Grid in the States & else-where,...
55 years ago , the computer that ran the Apollo mission was as big as a modern bungalow
Today a flagship cellphone has more power to it than that bungalow of yesteryear
As we grow the battery era, 55 years from now .................................................. .......
It's just too bad , I won't be around to see it !

No, it will be .................... ............... Well, I'll tell you in 55 years :)

drivers are only allowed 11 hours, but the truck can keep going ...

I know a couple of husband & wife teams that run their rig as close to the 24 hours a day as you can get ... won't be doing that...
If you run the electric motor from a diesel generator it will reduce the need for transmission and improve fuel efficiency. That's how train locomotives run.

states (Iowa?) are already drafting laws to bill those that own electric vehicles fees for the roads, use of electricity, it is not going to be cheap to own an electric vehicle, most of us can not afford a vehicle like that, and then to what ever happen to those cars that GM build that got 40-50 miles to the gallon, ya they sent them all to the junk yard and crushed them.
