OK2 with StbEmu

My buddy just called and on OK2 he can only watch VOD and Tv Series. The live tv says cannot play stream. He is the only one on my panel with this....Mostly buzz boxes and a couple firesticks.
Does this thing need to be updated or is it just out of date totally and something better needed. He uses it on a Sony Bravia smart tv. Also asked him to try and change video players but he can't find where, if its even possible......

Thank you for that.....Now though, he deleted the app and reinstalled it. Would the mac addy change? He is giving me a different mac than before.
VOD and TV series working now but still no live tv. What player shoud he have it on?

Is he using a relatively recent version ? There is a sticky on this forum where I have uploaded the latest version (2.0.8).

When I set it up, I usually just use the classic "ljk" as media player (I believe it is the default). Rarely have I had issues.

Reset on panel, then disable for about 5 minutes.
kill device (exit app, kill process or just unplug it)
enable account try again
If that fails me, I put another reset in on panel, second reset is server end, so it will take a bit longer for techs to close that ticket.
This process always works for me.

edit: I read one of your replies about mac change, serial number needs to be the same as original mac account. It will error out with wrong serial number on that account.
I've had many boxes create new macs with app change or update from version 1.x.x. to version 2.x.x.x (creating a new profile completely different mac, serial numbers not so much but I have seen some change that as well)

I will try the reset option.....For the mac addy....It works the same (VOD, TV Series but no live tv) if I use the old mac or the new one that he said showed up after re-installing StbEmu. Should I just go back to the mac addy that worked before and do the reset?

Live tv was actually working this morning for about 5 minutes with the new mac addy, then froze and no more channels. The version is 2.0.8.
I just put it back to the original mac addy, reset from panel and will have him try again when he gets back home.....

Ok, well after putting the old mac addy back in and doing a reset, it comes up STB is Blocked, Contact Service Provider.
Not sure what to do next......

did you change the mac in stb emu to match?

Didn't know you could change the mac addy in stb emu. Where would he find it.....I've never used these apps. Buzz boxes are so much easier. Wish he would just buy one.....

Found the mac change and have it set to the same mac addy we had before. Now we are back to just vod and tv series.

Press the Menu button, and select Settings->Profiles... Select the profile you have for your service (probably only 1 there if you did not create anything else). Then "STB Configuration", and you should see MAC address about 6 options down. You can select it, and then edit it.

Went through the different players, none worked for live tv. Just don't know why it suddenly stopped. He told me live tv actually came on earlier for about 5 min. and then back to cannot play stream. Never had this issue in the past few years until recently.

Ok, well now I have 2 other clients with the same issue but one has an xrs 4500 and the other a firestick. Must be something else going on.

One client has the same ISP as myself and I know none of them using VPN's.
I sent a message to Herk to see if he may know.

Possible maybe clients have gone "click exploring" in settings (at least stbemu) and possibly enabled (checked off) device ID options. I beleive that has somethings to do with token locks on server end.
Although I'm sure you would get an error at startup about registration error or something.

The wierd thing is, the one client with the xrs 4500, said it came on after I reset it. Turned it off and went to watch it an hour later and back to nothing again. Everything loads, just won't play.

Hopefully Herk can help you out, and, possibly you could update us here if solution is found.

Could be someone using your mac?
Maybe switch to streaming line?
