Already posted in the Spanish section is that Amazonas 2 has started up. I blind scan 2 tp but only the first one scans in. It's a promotional channel for the sat specs, both tp coming in with 99% signal quality on my bud.

There are Spanish-speaking channels on Galaxy 25 -93 west
Freq 11984 pol V S/R 8681 Fec ¾
Using a cw600 receiver and a 36” dish with a standard lineal L N B F
Can also get this with my viewsat receiver.
I am on the west coast of B.C. Near Vancouver
Getting 3 channels and one test pattern

.................................................. ................................................

Although people use universal lineal L N B F ‘s with success I personally like using a STANDARD lineal L N B F. I find them easer to set up also universal are not necessary in North America.

Bigger the dish the better. I use a 36-inch dish with a motor and have a few stationary dishes also. Have had great luck using old star choice dishes. Mostly the 30x33inch round type also 18x36 star choice elliptical the duel L N B F ones from star choice.

Make sure mast dish is on is perfectly plumb. Important.

I take a small TV and my receiver right out to the dish but what ever works for you.
You could have some one watch the screen as you adjust. no TV’s or receivers in the rain.

Point the dish to where you think satellite is. I use a compass I got at Canadian tire to point me in the right direction in the sky. Then adjust elevation (up/down) degs. The scales on the dish are never right but it gives you some were to start from for now.
Now move the dish left to right really slowly a 1/16 at a time stop then a 1/16 and stop give it a second, and so on or right to left what ever works for you watch you meter closely, go back and forth up and down SLOWLY working a grid pattern and you will find it. I have tuned in dozens of satellites using this method. Use small tiny adjustments or you will miss it. DON”T STAND IN FRONT OF THE DISH when adjusting it like I did once.

Once you get a signal go back and forth up/down till you get the best possible signal. Then you need to adjust the L N B skew this is done buy turning the L N B right or left.
I adjust my L N B buy turning it slowly on way till signal drops off then the other way till signal drops off and set it in the middle or the strongest signal.
Once you have done all this and nuts, bolts and screws are snugged up you would exit the antenna setup page say yes to save the settings. Next go to main menu then installation then Blind scan and do a blind scan for this satellite. It will scan all the tp’s on this satellite.
On my receiver in the antenna setup page I would set my L N B to standard because I use a standard linear L N B
L n b freq to10750
Lnb power on
22 khz0ff
Tp freq to a strong tp on sat your trying for
Diseqc off
Motor off
Legacy sw none
You will get something. This is a much weaker signal then bev or dishn*t and living in Canada we are on the fringe as most of these satellites are amid at the states.

Good luck

I agree with andyb2
There is no KU from amazonas 1or 2 you will pickup way out here. It’s all spot beamed to South America also I think it to low on the horizon. I live in Sechelt not far from you and I do get the Spanish channels I posted above. Maybe if some one from out here can get amazonas the could let us now

You might want to check out the satbeams site and go to the Footprints section.

They show Amazonas1 has a C-Band and a KU footprint that both cover the US. and Canada and they show Amazonas2 has a KU footprint that covers the US and Canada.

You will need a large dish for the Amaz1 C-Band, it says a 100" dia dish is needed for Vancouver.

For Amazonas1 & 2 KU footprint's it says an approx 33" dish is needed for Vancouver but thats probably bare minimum size.

Yes I see that also at sat beams Dearhunter thanks. Dose anyone out here get Amazonas 2
I will set up a 38’’ dish this coming week see if I can find it but I have to many trees that way. I cannot get horizons 2 from here so I don’t think I well pick it up but worth a try.
But yes it shows a KU band signal footprint here and says a 31.5’’ dish should get it.

Get a compass see were 123degress is and if you have a clear view set your dish elevation to 26 deg as a rough starting point. Enter the tp numbers I posted earlier here for g25 and follow my earlier post.

While satbeams shows it can cover NA I dont think they mean any of the TP's are broadcasting here just that they can.

I see you point Andyb2
I think it’s to low on the horizon to get here. I will give it a try.
I can’t find any listings for channels on the FTA lists for North America.
Costa has posted that he is picking up a few tp’s from this sat with his bud.
Maybe some one out here could try see if thy get anything with a bud.

Thanks Costa for making this list.
I setup a dish this afternoon and could not get it.
Too many trees but it looks like there is nothing to get on the KU side.
I love my dish motor.

O k on Amazonas 2 (two) there is a Amazonas promo and that’s all. Nothing else there.
As posted earlier by member Costa t p 11810 H s/r 27497-promo tp so you could try for this tp if you wanted to.

And on Amazonas 1 (one) the tp would not scan in for Costa
You said that you looked at lyngsat in an earlier posting. If you go look again at the lyngsat listing for Amazonas 1 the tp numbers in the left Colum that has 4 digits are for C-band type dishes. The really big dish's that quit often live on top of bars and hotels farmers fields and every were else you can think of.

Further down the page on lyngsat the tp’s change to 5 digits and 5 digits are KU band. Now if you go over to the right side second to last column is the beam column. See how it says South America and Brazil? That is were they are beaming the signal to. Like a flashlight the signal is shining only on these places. This my change one day. Who knows?
If you look at the tp numbers that Costa scanned in you will notice that they are all except for one c- band signal. He is using a really big c-band dish to get this signal also he lives in Ontario a long way from this west coast.
So sorry to say but you are not going to get all the channels your seeing list on the lyngsat site.
Believe me we would all be speaking Spanish if we could!
It’s a hobby!!

forgot to say that is nice size dish 39"
