Is there a starter guide to IPTV here? I am going to be moving from IKS in the next while, and really do not know much about IPTV, and would like to read a beginners guide. Currently leaning towards a BuzzTV Box.

Thanks, but is there any type of software that needs to be loaded on to the box to use an IPTV provider?

Just make sure you have descent speeds internet wise, otherwise everything DU has already mentioned will get you on the right path

Can't go wrong with a BuzzTV box.

I typically recommend to family and friends the BuzzTV Classic, as bang bang for the buck. But everyone's needs/budget are different.

As mentioned, the buzz boxes have all the software you need to use it for IPTV. The only thing you are missing, would be an IPTV subscription. And if you check the IPTV Server discussion forum, you will find all sorts of services. Keep all communication regarding servers in PM, and will be up in no time.

For internet speed, I even have someone who still only has 10Mbps down speed for internet, and it works fine for him. Obviously the more the merrier. 10Mbps is the minimum, 30Mbps you'd be comfortable, and anything above is no issue. Obviously at 30Mbps, don't expect 4k (not that there is much 4k on IPTV, other than VOD) :)
