i would imagine that car insurance is sky high, unless they put in a clause that omits fire damage caused by battery fires, read the other day that one of the big car rentals are unloading their EV cost to much for repairs

read yesterday the government is spending i think it said $125 million to fix musks charging stations, let the the s.o.b. fix his own junk, who in this ****ty government is in his hip pocket. next thing you know is some one running a gas station is going to the govt to fix this or that, my vending machine is broke i need $500,000 to fix it. and with all this cold weather most EV's are not doing so good, great news for the Post Office, they have trouble getting around to deliver your mail as is, the other day it was after 9PM when we got ours, what a way to start the day, bitch, bitch,

How would you like to be sitting for hours in an EV on the Coquihalla in a -30 snowstorm waiting for an accident to be cleared. Wonder how long the battery will last. I'd rather be in my truck with a full tank and a spare Jerry can. LOL

Agreed...based on the lack of infrastructure alone, we are not ready for mass ev.Battery charge life also must be improved significantly before I would consider one.

I'm a licensed auto technician that has serviced & driven ev(Tesla) and hybrid(Prius) autos since their inception .I'm qualified to judge & express opinion. I stand by my statement:we are NOT ready for mass ev rollout.

In today's world THIS cannot be overstated.

I actually agree with you that we are not ready for a mass rollout however I do believe that there are way more people for whom an ev would be a good fit if they'd only get out of their own way.
