U5 or HD5

I see Buzz is having a Valentine special on the U5 and HD5. I'm thinking of getting one for the wife's TV. I haven't tried an HD5 and I'm wondering if it would meet her needs rather than spending double for a U5.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome.

I wouldn't go for either. Unless she does a ton of recording the u5 would be a waste

It's 10% using "satfix2021" at checkout.

And with the 10% discount I would probably upgrade to the E5 since the B5 falls below the free shipping threshold with the discount and you get a slightly more powerful box.

The Classic is the best bang for the buck (same CPU as the X5 and U5), and also has the BT-250 remote (unlike the B5 and E5 which is IR only).

I have a B5 for mom, and she has no issues with it :)

Classic has a better CPU (same as X5 and U5), BT remote with air-mouse functionality vs IR only, double the memory, quadruple the onboard storage, Gigabit Ethernet vs only 10/100, and I do believe the WiFi is better also. The B5 has only BT 4.2 so don't expect miracles if planning to use BT speakers. And it only has USB 2.0 ports, no USB 3 (so streaming super high bitrate movies from a USB stick, may be a little limiting).

This is not to say the B5 is not capable. For the integrated IPTV apps, it is plenty. And if you don't mind the IR remote (over a BT remote), they it works fine. If using many 3rd party apps, then the Classic may be a better bang for the buck.

I think you ordered the perfect Buzz model for the wife's TV. Keep it simple if there's no need for the bells and whistles for a user that doesn't require them. Buzz have models to suit all iptv/entertainment needs and the B5 is an excellent choice for that TV s
