Asteroids from Uranus................
I don't know why they would do something like that ?
It seems so reckless ,, childish ,, foolish
to visit another world and leave garbage like that
If strangers did that at my house,
I would chase them down and run them over

It was all about the fuel to weight ratio, every ounce of weight cost a pound of fuel to get off the surface and back to orbit, taking an ounce of poop back with you meant you had to dump an ounce of the Lunar rock samples, back then there were two primary goals, one was to beat the Russians to the Moon, the other was to bring back Lunar samples. (well three actually, the third one was to get the astronauts home)
This is why the Lunar lander was a two stage setup, one stage to get down, then leave all that extra weight of a fuel expended first stage behind and go back up on a lighter second stage.

Seems to me they left some lunar samples too.

Only 12 men have walked on the moon for short durations. How can they possibly generate 96 bags of waste?

No way, they didn't have the video or special effects like we do now back in the 60's, I got to see Apollo 11 take off, there was no way to fake that, that was one very loud rocket, and we were 3 miles away.
My Uncle worked at one of the tracking stations,(that's how I got to see it that close) he watched to go to the Moon, and come back.
