Could be...

Is it clean install of STBEmu ? Took the latest pro version I have posted in the sticky (there is a newer one, but have not had time to post it, maybe this weekend) ?

Have you ensured that user has gone in and followed procedure to enable deviceIDs/serial and enter random digits (as per second sticky thread entitled "attn all STBEmu users" ) ?

If he is on your panel, why not try moving him to OK4 (unless they need some of the international categories that OK4 does not carry) ? It's a simple change.

Yes i thought of that late last night to try ok4.

Ya its a clean install. And I did it remotely so was able to verify the device ID and all that. Even turned that off to he sure that wasn't the issue. Didn't think it would be but was grasping at straws.
It was like it was trying to fetch the data then just stopped.

Will try ok4 and will reply back if that works just in case anyone else encounters this.

In your panel do a reset of this connection and it should reconnect properly

Have you tied changing the model of the STB thay STBEmu is emulating ? Usually it doesn't that much, but I noticed that the later versions of stbemu hae changed the default modem they emulate. BEfore it was the MAG254 and the most recent version, the default is MAG424.

Obviously, make sure DeviceID is set, and that the checkmarks for Send DeviceID and Custom DeviceID2 and signature are also set and configured. Maybe try to enable to disable the "Enable Ministra support" checkbox. I don't recall it making a difference with OK3 but worth a try.

Since I don't know what android box this user has, maybe in the Advanced settings you need to enable one of the options which is used to bypass bugs in some boxes (Fix Ajax support maybe ?).

Could honestly be anything. Maybe there is some VPN app that is installed (even if not logged in or activated) on the box that is interfering ? Is this some generic chinese android box or some typical unit like a firestick, shield or something ?

I recently pulled out my old "ABOX" generic box and installed both stbemu (v2.0.12.4_20012042) which worked fine with OK3, and the wicked APK also worked perfectly fine also. I believe it is running android 6 on it. I was very quickly reminded why I switched to a buzztv box :)

Thanks for all the replies and ideas.
Tbh not too sure what the actual issue was. .
Ran out of options and just decided to delete and do a fresh install with the usual settings. And worked instantly with ok3 .so maybe a bad install but really your guess is as good as mine.

Really interested in trying a buzztv box. So much invested with firestick. Have heard nothing but great things and as as stb is still just missing a few features like memory of last played and resume.

Anyways. Thanks for all the help .. really appreciate it

Glad it is working. Sometimes just doing a clean install is easier in the long run.

Buzztv boxes are great. But just curious on what you mean by "is still just missing a few features like memory of last played and resume". Are you referring to last played LiveTV channels on a buzz box ? It actually does keep a list of last played (I think last 20 if I recall). If you just tap the "last" button, it jumps to previous channel. If you long press the "last" button, it shows you a list of last played channels and you can scroll to choose one to switch back to.

And if you are referring to the VOD section, it does have a "recently watched" category, and if you had watched a movie and stopped it halfway through, it does have an option to "resume".

Firesticks are cheap. But I have many at the office who used to swear by their firesticks. Then I lent them my second X5 box for a week (so they can try), and they end up ordering either an X5 or a Classic. In the last 2 months (since we got back from the holidays), 4 of the guys I lent my box to, have all already ordered Classics. One guy just ordered his second Classic, and now holding off for the new Power Station (P6) being launched on April 15 since he wanted another for the basement. And he had an nvidia shield which is no slouch. But the UI is what wins them over.
