After an eight-day trip through the Pacific Ocean, the ONE (Ocean Network Express) ship encountered a strong storm, which forced it to throw a large part of its cargo into the sea.
The ship lost exactly 1,816 containers in the depths of the sea before reaching the port of Kobe, in the Kensai region of Japan. As they explained, 64 containers had what is known as "dangerous cargo"; 54, fireworks; eight, batteries; and two liquid ethanol.
In total, the damages incurred by the shipping container company are believed to run into the millions , not only from the lost cargo, but also from the rest of the merchandise left on board but damaged after the accident.
