i am trying to use a component to hdmi as i read in another thread that the component doe snot have the stuttering issue like HDMI
the issue i have is that unless i have HDMI cable connected to TV the receiver does not bootup, if i unplug the hdmi and try to use either component or just RCA video the ird will work until i try to change the channel or access the guide, it then stops working, display on front of receiver goes blank and video stops, was trying to find latest sw but not sure where or what i need
trying to get this going as my viewsat decided that the hd tuner would no longer wants to function, anyone got a sk200 or know how to repair them?

If you unplug HDMI Cable from TV but leave it plugged in to rec. box does the SV8000 Boot up like normal with display
on front of receiver (Normal Operation) ? Also how NEW & WHAT Brand of TV, Your HDMI cable Spec's for TV & Rec. Box
have to Match Up (1.3,2.4,etc. etc.) and the audio/video settings on TV have to Match as well.
As well your SV8000 that you are trying to get going May have the Wonky HDMI port like a lot people have including Me
I had to use a Component to HDMI Converter to fix the WONKY HDMI Port on my SV8000

HDMI must be plugged in on both ends, i have tried various HDMI cables, samsung, tcl tvs, and even a pc monitor, ird does not boot unless hdmi is connected end to end
my goal was to use a component to hdmi converter as was reading it does not have the studdering video like just hdmi does. do you know if that is true?

With NO video cables plugged in on the SV8000 will it Boot up ? If that is the case then there is something wrong with
The SV8000, It should boot up WITHOUT anything plugged into it.

ANYTIME an 8000 misbehaves in an unusual manner, the power supply must be considered bro.Just for gigles, have you tried using the hdmi @ a reduced resolution?I found it helped a great deal with the issue you have watching North.Using RBG output solved it.

A re-flash is worth a shot, if you can get to the Main menu I would look up what ver. of software/firmware & such is showing
make a note of it, then I would do a factory Reset before doing a Re-Flash. Do you have all the files needed to do this ?
they are located in the SV8000 FILES SECTION under SV lan files, 2028 no-chk file, 4.12 wiznet/IHUB & Factory files.
