The bad. Guess what happens when you bury your three-way speakers under a waterbed frame for 20 plus years. You discover that the foam surrounds on your woofers did not age well. The good. You discover you can still find and buy foam surround replacements.
The bad. Guess what happens to your belt drive turntable when you bury it in a closet in the warmest room of the house for 20 plus years. You discover the belt has melted too the underside of the platter. The good. With some effort a lot of patents and rubbing alcohol you can remove it. You also discover you can still find and buy a replacement belt. 8 track deck aged well but the cassette deck did not unfortunately. Sadly some of the 8 tracks tapes met their demise once inserted.
Bur considering the age of this equipment around 40 plus years it's a wonder any of it works at all. Feels good to go back in time.

Music and or stereo equipment has been a big part of my life since I was teenager. It began with a small am transistor radio and portable cassette recorder. Then onto a small stereo console. It had a two way siding top to access either the am fm 8 track combo or the turntable. It had a great sound. Got the 8 track record deck I have now for Christmas at 15. Got most of the rest of the equipment I have now at 16 after I got a parttime job at the grocery store while I was in high school. Aka bagboy. I did purchase a realistic direct drive turntable and an Akai reel to reel after I was married. Music has gotten me through a lot of rough times in my life and some good. Man did I ever burn the cds back in the day. My hobby right before fta.
I do a ton of driving. And the only thing my radio is ever tuned to is music. Life can be depressing enough. Why the hell would I want to listen to some dumbass spout bs when I can listen to music.

I have some new, some vintage. My favourite pieces are a pair of Polk SDA-SRS II that I bought new in 1983.I paid just over 3K Canadian for them back then.I've replace a tweeter due to an amp clip, but are otherwise as original.I refinished the oak & grille cloth too. When I die, you can bury me in 1.lol.I still love the sound. They're GREAT as left & right in my home theater, and exceptional as my stereo music speakers as well.
The rest of my home theater is a 7.2.2 using all Polk speakers,Yamaha A6A receiver and LG 77" OLED.Love it to pieces, especially as my 4K bluray library grows.
