Heya, I recently got a "Junxbox" Premium HD from AliExpress, and decided to post a little bit of info, since I've had multiple people in PM ask me about it.
The box included the receiver, remote, HDMI cable, normal A/V cables, 12v power adapter, and an IR remote extender. No manual is included, you're on your own, but you can figure it out
Physically, the build quality of the unit itself seems decent. It also includes a fan preinstalled, so you don't need to modify it to add one if you want it to stay cool. The unit is very slightly bigger than a Dreamlink receiver. The remote is kind of low quality, it's very lightweight, glossy plastic that I don't personally like, but it does get the job done.
Software-wise... First off, you don't need a custom file/bin in order to use IKS. It comes preloaded with the necessary software. It works fine with the new TP changes on BEV, locks to all the TPs with no issues. I don't really like the info screen. The UI is kind of ugly in some ways, but nice in others. Worse than Dreamlink IMO.
Other things to note:
- The included WiFi adapter is junk. It picks up barely 25% signal on my router 20ft away that everything else in the house is connected to, and it disconnects constantly. I'm almost tempted to believe that the antenna on it is just fake. I've had no issues just using a cable instead.
- I'm a bit of an electronics nerd, so I opened up the included power adapter to check the build quality. It looks surprisingly decent and well-made, good isolation between high and low voltage sides, probably won't kill you.
- The LNB input port: The "hole" is a bit "tight", and you may need to wiggle the connector or even force it a bit to get it to go in. It's also hard to get it back out again. It works fine, though, and I didn't damage it during several times reconnecting it.
- When opening/closing the EPG, it seems to either reconnect to the server or perhaps relock to the TP, because the picture consistently goes black for a few seconds. I really hate this, but it's not a big deal in the end.
- Picture quality is fine, at least as good as a Dreamlink. Ignore the photos for that, I'm tuned to an SD channel and watching on a TV that isn't all that great, not to mention using a mediocre camera.
- PVR functionality works good, you need a fast hard drive otherwise it will freeze a lot. It also has the ability to dedicate part of the HDD to storing a buffer recording for pausing and rewinding live TV - this is something I miss from BEV receivers that as far as I can tell isn't on the Dreamlinks. Not sure how standard this is.
- Edited/Added Jun 8 2024: The box is missing a few TPs on 91 from the factory and you have to re-add them. Check LyngSat list against your box's list to be sure, but I think it's 12370V/21500/8PSK, 12457H/21500/8PSK, 12282V/21500/8PSK, and 12457V/21500/QPSK. I think 2 or 3 of those have channels on them so they're not just useless.
All in all, I'd recommend getting one of these if it is what you need. It's better than I expected for the price. I am not sponsored by whoever makes these things :p
Pictures attached... Hope this helps.

Hey when you tune to channel 199 is that the same memory channel. Like if you enter 199 on the remote does it tune channel 199?

if you enter 199 on the remote does it tune channel 199?
Yeah, it does it that way for me by default. I don't know if there's a setting to get it to renumber the channels with a 1 like on Dreamlink. I prefer it this way though.

When FTA Receivers first came out back in the day, they were originally setup for Dicknet, Bev wasn't even in the picture at that time So when Bev showed up for FTA they had to find a way to add the channel #'s in a way that the receiver wouldn't get confused with Dicknet channel #'s that's why the re-numbering was added on most Boxes etc.

Received my Junxbox" Premium HD from AliExpress yesterday. It's definitely not a T5 but it does the job. Most of my channels are back. It's very easy to setup . The only complaint i have is the wireless adapter/dongle stopped working a few hours after i got it. Picture quality is just as good if not a little better than the T5. All in all for $84 i can't complain.

I have one of these units showing up tomorrow. I hope it works. I ordered one a while back (long before the issues we are having) and it had a dummy ethernet port and no wi-fi when I opened it up. I did take photos and did get a refund from the seller and didn't have to ship the unit back. Anyway here is my question:
Do I need to change info on transponder frequency on 1 - 19 and set it them to turbo8PSK before scanning or do I just scan and wait? Any help is appreciated.

Do use the numbers on right side of lynsat info
Just go through each transponder on sat 91 and note the dead ones, or if they have no signal quality toggle it to turbo and see if it locks, it takes a few seconds to lock so give it time to lock, like in seconds.

DHCP=Dynamic Host Control Protocol, where the router/modem assigns a IP address to device that's hooked to the router/modem
Static=you give it a dedicated IP address. For ease of use set it to DHCP

Finally getting to setting this thing up. When changing the TP's, I noticed that some on 91 get good S&Q without changing anything.
Do I have to have 'network channels' turned on when scanning?
Tried 82 but no channels would come on, they scanned but thats it.
My set up:
82 SW21 dish 2
91 SW21 dish 1
EDIT: In server settings, when I hit apply, keeps saying 'connection failed' Double checked everything I put in and all looks perfect. I have a 2nd screen beside me so I can check here and look at the junxbox as well.

Disconnect ALL Other devices running on router, and reboot router and try the Box/receiver ALL BY IT'S SELF WIRED
See if it will connect then, you may have a IP conflict, What Brand of Router/Modem are you using ?
Might want to try different Router etc.

Trying a different router is not an option for me.

To get a clean IP interface or config, need to unplug "EVERYTHING" including Receiver and REBOOT Router
so it will start A-New, once that is done then plug the Junxbox back into router by itself nothing else hooked up (make sure Receiver is set to DHCP not Static) Then Hopefully the router will assign a New IP to the Receiver & it will work ?
Also recheck Network settings info (No mistakes) on the receiver, did your Donation expire ?

Do you know how to log into your TP-Link router, If so log into it, click on advanced Tab, on left side of pane click on Network
Scroll or go down to DHCP SERVER & open it, on right side should show the Primary & Secondary DNS IP's, This is where you can
change or input a IP server you want to use, in Primary box field, input 208.67.222.123 This is Open DNS's server IP which is
like a Proxy or something close to a VPN you can use, instead of the one that is provided by who ever you are with (internet provider) You can also put that same 208.67.222.123 IP on the Receiver/Box as well, basically giving a Static IP or Manual IP
I have basically the same TP-Link router that you have so the workings of the Two routers are the same on how they operate.

Well, it came yesterday. Pretty well packaged. Setup was easy and it's working. One thing I don't like is the functionality of the remote but I do have a Jynxbox V3 that the Ethernet port stopped working and tried the Jynxbox remote on the Junxbox and it works great. More functionality as in the previous channel recall actually works now and navigation of the remote is much easier. Satisfied so far.

Read post #69. I have same issue with the ethernet but haven't tried that suggestion yet as my T5 still works on 82 but hopefully it does work.
thx
Ya I tried that and it did not work

I had that issue too. I had a T5 that I copied the IP info from, changed the junxbox from DHCP to static IP and put that info into the Junxbox. After that no connection issues.
Thankyou. But what happens when you use the box at another location? I would have to carry the T5 with me? Was going to ship a programmed box to my brother but I'm thinking this just won't work.

My junxbox is acting strange today. When I turned it on no signal went ito satelite settings and nimiq 1 says (30/62) 91.0w
Transponder says (22/29) no signal. Scanned it brought up all the guide but no picture. Went to guide and it just showed stations but no guide .I could go up down channels some come in on nimiq1 some on nimiq4 I have a single lnb..
Turned it back into satelite config on nimiq1 and have full signa, now with transponderlisting (9/29) 12355h 21500 ..
Dont know if Bev is changing things.

I got 1 from Tony as well, for future use. They are what you pay for & are not even close to the Dreamlinks/Sonicviews we got here with. The ethernet port is DOA on my unit (no status lights). The wireless works ok so far, but the unit is directly under my wireless router, so it should.
Setup is ok.When the time comes I will factory reset it & set it up for just the 91 sat.Not watching it for now anyways.
The picture quality is fair at best.HD is far from that of the Dreamlinks, & the HDMI has no audio output on this unit.I have to use RCA cables, but that will be fine for the living room, but not the home theater. It is what it is folks.
Anyone thinking ahead can get spare JB200 models at Amazon as we speak.I ordered 2 yesterday & they will be here middle of next week.
Pray that the software becomes open source for the Dreamlinks...lol.

The Dreamlinks are S.O.L. for New Firmware/Software Updates as far as I'm concerned, No one willing to take it on
Now that most have moved to IPTV etc.

How do you save Junxbox info onto a flash drive? I can save user info ...but I want to save the firmware info. How is that done? there is no blue button at bottom of firmware screen like there is on user database...(my usb to rs232 adapter will not work with these clone boxes as far as I have tried)

I've got one of these boxes and the Ethernet/LAN MAC address is all zeros causing DHCP to fail, has anyone else see this problem with the Amazon purchased units?

Will connect to the internet on some routers but not others, Microtik can be tricked into working. It isn't a problem of static vs DHCP, as no network device should have a hardware MAC address of 00:00:00:00:00:00. The box will also get blocked by IKS providers if left on when not in use, while others don't support it fully as it sends 'bad data' when it is in standby on Ethernet.

if anyone else sees this. this is correct. junxbox must not have coded MAC addresses into their ethernet adapters, so they all get the 00:00:00:00:00:00 MAC. Most routers don't like this and may not pass data to it, especially if you have a switch in your network.
On a side node, Got 2 of the junxbox's

Im connected to 91. and using the BEV channel list that is on the file section
https://www.satfix.to/showthread.php?233714-B3V-channel-list-not-edited
But i am not able to get any EPG at all. nothing. I see in this thread people on the exact same version were able to get EPG..
could it be because of the bev channel list i uploaded?
I reset everything to factory, channels come in (with the channel list i uploaded) but no EPG.
Might someone be able to backup their 91 channel list and upload so i could try? Or does anyone have any ideas why i might not get EPG?
Thanks

Yeah, i know it is what is. but it seems some people had it working. and at this point there arent many options. I dont live in an area with high speed internet. iptv is certainly not an option

Rural DSL, 1.5 up .5 down Because i am so far from the point of presence. Internet is flaky and will go even slower when it rains. There is water in the burial cable, ISP wont fix it either.

Yeah i tested it, it did not work reliably due to tree coverage. i need a 70ft tower to get to an acceptable level with the tree line.

I was able to get the EPG to work, it seems the file i uploaded with the channel list is what causes the issues with the EPG not loading.
I manually modified my own TP's in the junxbox. and some TP's simply will always skip when doing either, auto scan, blind scan or a individual TP scan.
When i used the channel list in the file section for the jynxbox, the channels work on all the TP's but again no epg when i use that backup.
So if i want to build my own. i have done 30-50 scans, and i simply cannot get some TP's to scan.
Does anyone have a junxbox channel list for 91 they could share?
