On my SV8000HD, since the transponder switch, and after re-scanning. I have many SD channels that are duplicates. One will have the EPG but no audio or video, the other will have audio and video but no EPG. I there a way to get the EPG on the channel that has the audio and video?

You have to delete all of the channels before re-scanning.
You do that by deleting the sats. Make a note of the sat info before deleting (like lnb type, frequency, lnb power, DiSEqC info, etc). Can always do a backup to a USB drive to be safe.
Then delete 91 and 82. Then activate one sat with the info (do not fill in switch info yet) and do a scan. If using a switch, be sure to disconnect it and have a direct feed to your 8000 from the dish for each sat as you scan. Then do the other sat. Then connect your switch and assign ports in the info.
Then do another backup.

Nope, you are going to have to edit out the channels you don't want/need because of the TP changes that's whats going on with the sv8000 don't know if any other Boxes are doing the same or not

Don't want to edit out any channels. If I edit out the EPG channel I'll lose any way of knowing what's on. If I edit out the non-epg channel, I' ll know what's on but won't be able to see or hear it.:grr:

Software/firmware changes to handle it, And that is not likely to happen any time SOON, So we have to deal with
What we can do with what is in-front of us Presently or until we hear/see otherwise.

Thanks, that's all I needed to hear. I can live with it. It's only on the SD channels, that I don't watch much anyway The strange thing I don't get is why the channel with EPG does not have audio and video, but the channel with audio and video does not have an EPG. They are both on the same TP, but the EPG is on SR 20000 and the audio and video is on SR 21500. Very strange.

if you bring up the Guide, and see the channels that "DON'T" Have/show any info in them those are the ones you want to edit/delete out Also at times you have to let it sit on a channel for a bit (longer than before) for the channel to Pop in, don't know why it's taking Longer Than usual (maybe to do with the changes etc.) Anyways I am just Glad/Happy that the SV8000hd is Still operational for the most part Being that this Box came out a long time ago, & other "Newer Boxes" are Toast now. We have certainly got our $$$ worth out of it.

Yes, I am more than happy with the years of service I received from my SV8000HD. Regarding the channels that do not show any EPG information, those are the version of the duplicate channel that actually gets audio and video. The version with the EPG information do not get the audio or video. Like I stated previously these channel are the SD versions, the HD channels are fine. Just that some SD channels are not available in HD. This is just a minor annoyance. Just would like to fix it if possible. I'm actually moving the SC8000HD to my wife's TV (she has been using a SV360 Premier which has lost a lot of channels lately). I am moving to IPTV on my TV.

I guess go with what will work for you.
I did a quick scan (after deleting the sats) last night after Auggies post and everything came up. 360 on 82 and 551 on 91. I did a backup just in case, but no problems. I do keep my transponder list current, maybe that is the difference.

Did you get any duplicates and in the guide are some channels showing No info in the guide ? Apparently 82 is going BY BY Soon, Lease has run out.

Just went thru entire guide. No duplicates. After deleting all channels I would not expect any duplicates. They usually happen if you do not do a clean (deletion) before scanning.
Every channel had the programming on the EPG.
And yes, 82 is on the way out. I am sure it will be used as long as they can. Even with a little inclination. Eventually another sat will take its place. Spots on the arc will not be wasted, they are expensive. Whether another Bell uses that spot or rents from another sat, who knows. Maybe they will just cut costs and stay only with 91.

What do you mean by keeping TP list current?

The transponder list. Dish Settings - Transponder. You can edit the transponder settings as they are changed.

telesat will build replacements but it's not guaranteed

Well decided to delete all nimiq 6 channels and re-scan. Now I got rid of the duplicate channels but have lost the EPG that came along with the duplicate channel. Many channels now do not have EPG. How did you get every channel to have EPG?

you have to sit on the tp that carries epg for it to load
