The new URL from Herk isn't working for a few of my peeps. I hope it's not due to them using a Firestick.
I don't see any other posts so maybe I am missing something?

It would have been nice if you had mentioned this detail to me
Have you tried a different player?

Herk, I notice a few people mention a black screen. I've also got some people dealing with this black screen issue. Although, they're all on a generic android box using STBemu pro. I didn't think of asking them whether or not this was live tv related only or also affecting the VOD, so just reached out to them now..
They said all they're getting is a black screen. Cannot do anything like switch to live tv, or anything of that sort.

Seriously wish I could convince the old folks I've got on ok2 to move over to using XC. I've tried setting them all up at one time or another and then just couldn't convince them to keep it. Very unfortunate.

For a minute, I thought I was the only one having some people with this issue. I'm sure herk will be able to figure something out eventually.....

That was the first thing I tried actually. Was still a no go. I noticed a few people say that folks could access VOD just not live, these people are unable to access anything.

Which VPN do you use? I use Cyber Ghost and Proton free and when I connect to them both live tv and VOD work fine. I have a bunch of users using Proton free and they never have any problems. Just curious because I've seen you mention a few times that a VPN on Ok2 doesn't work well.

vpn has to be off for live tv to work for me
otherwise every channel just shows n/a

Negative.. Most are too old to set them up with a vpn, which I tried in the past.. It just tends to complicate things for them I guess.

Is there a solution to this issue? Have a few clients with this issue. Live TV black screen, VOD works.
- Had them clear data and cache. Didn't work
- Had them delete profile and create new one. Didn't work
- Some have VPN, most don't. Still doesn't work

Hi
Friends were using older StbEmu_pro_v1.2.12.1Arm7a told them update to StbEmu_Pro_v2.0.12.4 latest release and
Live TV black screen went away. It also fixes issue when you start StbEmu you are kicked back to main screen
without connecting to server. I took Emporium advice to update.

Has anyone found a fix for the black screen on live tv, as a huge chunk of users still using older boxes that has no option to update whatever is needed. Many on older boxes just stopped working the live tv:cry:

How old is old in terms of boxes.. If they are on version 1.x (which most customized versions were), they should upgrade to version 2.x
Version 2.0.10 (ARMEABI-v7a version) should work on any box running Android 6 or higher. Android 6 is pretty damn old.

For the rare users that are running Android 5 still (not many left I'm sure), you can go to the previous page, and download version 2.0.9 (or even earlier which I have posted).
Unfortunately, version 1.x is old news, time to move on.
IPTV subs are dirt cheap. If they are still running boxes with less than Android 5, then it is time to upgrade. Even the entry level Buzz B5 or even better yet, E5 would give them a lot better experience anyhow.
EDIT: Above assume MAC. I forgot that OK2 supports XC and M3U also.

Old in terms on boxes running the linux that have STBEmu built in don't have no option to update.

Old in terms on boxes running the linux that have STBEmu built in don't have no option to update.
As far as I know STBEmu as we know it, only runs on Android 5+. It does "emulate" many MAG boxes that run on Linux, but those are running a Native STB app, not STBEmu. So are they running Linux box (like a MAG) with Native STB app (if so, what model), or an Android box with STBEmu ?
If it is truly an Android box (like the StreamPro which have a custom version of STBEmu preinstalled), have they tried to download the APK I mentioned and install ? Often the integrated versions on these boxes have a different signature, so you can install 2 of them side by side. Sure you will need to choose another icon to launch the newer STBEmu, but it should work.
At one point things move on, for a variety of reasons..
I also can't receive any of the old NTSC analog TV channels either any more :) Needed to move on and upgrade. If they have an old MAG box, like the 250/254/256/etc.. (which are models emulated by STBEmu), then the last software update on those dates back to 2018 I believe. Can't expect them to work forever.
If they want something on the real cheap, amazon even has their firesticks on sale right now for $30 ($35 for the 4K version). I'm not a huge fan of them, but they work fine for many people, they are cheap and they are the latest models.

Thanks for all suggestions so far, don't understand all this Emulator stuff that much or technical thing, so I guess all those MAG boxes are left behind because I think they all run Linux.
as for solution=upgrade sounds like some sort of "MANDATORY UPGRADE/GET A NEW BOX" otherwise your out of luck :(
There always some sort of solution instead "FORCING" the end user to upgrade. Change was made not providing a backwards compatibility solution, most users will be sad.
No more live tv for many users unless maybe some LINUX/NERDS help fix this. Who knows these NERDS have solutions for everything lol:laughat:

even legit tv providers make you pay to upgrade box if older models stop working
for what users are saving every month they could afford a new box/device every month...lol

If this was a Linux PC, maybe there would be something. But the MAG 250 series of boxes are over a decade old and very custom. Pretty sure closed source also for much of the customization. At one point you can't keep including backward compatibility. You need to draw the line somewhere. Newer and better things come out, and in order to support them, you need to drop some legacy support. It's just the way things work.
Hell, I work in an industry where VAX machines from the 80s are still being used to run realtime simulations. They still work as long as you don't try to integrate them with your newest devices. They run in their bubble, and at one point you need to accept the limitations, and either live with it, or update. And in many cases, due to other obsolesce, you find yourself not being able to use the devices as you once did since many of the services you were dependant on, are just no longer available in their expected format.
However in this case, you have cheap options like firesticks, which are peanuts nowadays. Hell they cost less than half a month of a cable sub. Even one night at the movies would cost you more.
They got their money's worth in savings over the years off these MAG boxes. Time to retire them, say thanks for their service over the years, and move on.
