- Update preinstalled apps

dont take this update buttons on remote quit working i have 6 boxes that updated now certain buttons don't work on remote

To update what sat9182 said the buttons in question appear to be the red, green, yellow, blue, page down and page up and all number keys along with Live TV and I am guessing about guide but I can't tell because I am locked out after a hard reset and it defaults to adult on Wicked.

So I don't advise a hard reset on the B5 unless you want to be locked out of live TV. In live TV you can still channel up and down with the arrow buttons, just can't change category because red button not working.

Hopes this help the people that fix this stuff. :yes:

I should add not all B5 are effected only the guys next door and two other neighbours.

If you are in Channel list mode - not EPG (assuming the OK button works), you can always just bring up channel list, then left arrow to bring up categories, scroll up/down with arrows to go to category, then right arrow to go into that category channels, and press ok on one of those channels to change into that category.

Obviously not a fix, but a small workaround.

Luckily mom is out of town so she is not here to take the update and then complain :) I'll hold off in updating her box for now. I'm sure they will fix it quickly.

Yes that is working, nice work around.

I managed to get back into live TV by entering the adult password with a keyboard. I was just scrolling the channels but what you says I can now pull up categories.

it's always been that way so it's not much of a work around
even though I have a categories button on my remote I've used left arrow last 8-9 years ;)

Same here, that is why it was just a natural reply. It is just easier for muscle memory to just stick to the DPAD area for as much as possible , rather than fumbling for a specific button on the remote.
