that is a lot of knowledge you just shared, and i would bet the tesla would out run the charger in a 1/4 mile drag, but just the same i like the charger better.
everyone needs to drive a tesla just once and I mean drive it like you stole it ! I had the chance with a type s , it is incredible. Nothing compares to the full instant torque and the last-second braking. I would never own one , but its like a fat chick ,got to do it at least once

When I was in Dallas last year on business, they did not have any other "normal" mid-sized cars, and they gave me an option of a huge GMC Savana van or a Mach-E. Since I was only there for 2 days...
I also took a Tesla 3 for a ride
In all, it was a positive driving experience
braking is different and the computer, ization is in a different class
Like the OP, I would be skeptical of owning one because of the
uncertainty of the electric model and it's mechanical reliability
and battery longevity is an unanswered question
Having said that ,, I would have no problem leasing one for company or business
use,, so long as the company car allowance covers or justifies the company/person use cost.
They are very economical (+/- $600.00 per 20K) and fun to drive.
About all that other opinionated fluff , mining lithium , environmental issues , electrical grid
recycling,, etc. etc. ... I'll leave that to people who are smarter than me.
And like the OP said ,,, weekends are reserved for the sound of that IC we all have covered up
in the garage waiting to be let out ,, mine is a 230SLK Compressor convertible

one of the ways the govt will make you buy a electric is make gasoline so expensive you can no longer afford gas, i can remember when it was .20 cents and when it went to .50 it was how are we going to afford this to get to work, start charging over $100. and see how many cars no longer are used, hurts the poor folks more than the rich, and they have a way of writing it off on their taxes
But give the farmers and others special deals, but even now i think a lot of the farm machinery is diesel, still lot of old tractors that use gas, most all trucks are diesel, any how its a ???
