I remember getting a scaffolding crossbar, cutting it in half and installing it on my slightly cut off forks. Worked like a charm with holes at the end for the front wheel.

As for the rest of the commentary:there could not have been a better era to grow up than the 60's & 70's.We grew up fairly poor, but seemed to have everything.Oh...the memories.

I have so many good memories from when I was younger, all the friendships, fun and adventures. In fifty years todays kid won't have these quality memories, the only thing they will remember is staring at a screen for 14 hours a day.

For me, it's as much about the things I won't remember, like Tourettes syndrome (the nuns beat it out of us), peanut butter allergies, transgenders,transexuals, gays,hatred and descrimination against anyone different.I won't remember those things because they were not any part of my childhood.I WILL remember the assasination of JFK,the Viet Nam war,Woodstock,landing on the moon,60 cent gas,75 cent cigarettes,childhood ambition,great friends,mini skirts,tank tops,hot pants and by far the best music era ever.Those were the days....

I will remember Sweet Daddy Siki,Gordie Howe,Maple leafs that won the cup. I will remember getting the strap twice in 1 day in grade 3, and the grade 5 bully I fought twice to get strapped.I will remember a younger loving mother & father.I will remember discovering channel 29 on UHF, & the Zenith tv that changed channels by itself.I will remember my dads short wave radio & his Lee Enfield.I will remember...
