I got to the lake on Saturday with intentions of finding AMC 9, or failing that, AMC 21.
Well I didn't get very far because both of those Sats are not in the menu on my CS 5000. Is there a way around this or do I need to take my Viewsat Ultra next time?

On your sat selection menu, are there any user spots that you can configure to your needs? I know on my CS7K I have four such spots. You could also re-configure an existing sat that you know you won't use, such as an eastern arc bird.
Happy Testing!
just find any ku sat and do a blindscan if you are already lined up if not your best bet is to get a signal meter, another way would be to manually set the tp and other settings from the menu,, get settings from lyngsat

Just to add to the above advice.
AMC9 = 83° West
AMC 21 = 125° West ** Note: This might also show as Galaxy 14 or G14 as it is/ or was in the same location
Don't forget if programing the location in manualy to put in the right specs for the LNB be it
circular or linear.
Linear use 10750 instead of the 11250 on circs
