logo boots and boots boots .. X5 octagon logo

I was watching a tv show the other day .. all of a sudden box reboots itself for no apparent reason
Logo and funky silver squids screen appears , gets to
X5 logo and just flashes and flickers , I was looking for hard reset option on physical box but having no luck on this route .
pushed all buttons while on X5 octagon logo and does nothing .
This action has never happened before .

Suggestions would be appreciated .. 👍

did you connect power cord while holding reset button and held button for at least 30 seconds? if not then remove power cord behind the box, hold reset button and then insert power cord while holding reset button and keep holding for at least 30 seconds or until you see a recovery screen.

The reset switch is located inside the box at the bottom of the av output connector.Pull the power adapter from the back of the stb.Insert a toothpick into the av cavity.You should fee a slight click when the toothpick bottoms out.Then plug in the power cable, holding the reset switch until the recovery screen appears.
