The Montreal Canadiens' run at the Stanley Cup is over, losing to the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-2, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference final on Monday night.

The Canadiens got on the board early with a goal by Brian Gionta at 0:59 of the first period but just three minutes later, the Flyers' Mike Richards scores on a spectacular slip-and-slide short-handed goal to tie the game.

In the second period, Aaron Asham slid the puck past Canadiens netminder Jaroslav Halak to put the Flyers up 2-1 before Jeff Carter added to the lead by beating Halak just over a minute later.

The Canadiens' Scott Gomez got the Habs within one after beating Michael Leighton in the third period, but it wasn't enough.

Jeff Carter added an empty-net goal to seal the deal.

The Flyers will meet the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Championship Final, with Game One on Saturday.
