Aside from 118.8 there aren't too many fta Indian or Tamil channels that I can think of. There was a Punjabi channel on AMC 1 but it's gone, many on 97w. If you can tell me specific channel names that your friend is looking for I can probably be of more assistance.

Well he sent me a message today. One channel his parents would like to get is Sun TV.I didnt see that on anything except Euro birds. The other he mentioned was TVI but I think thats probably only on on rogers or Bev.Probably any that are listed here would be ok.

Nothing on FTA Ku birds for North America, (there may be a few on "C" band) there are quite a few on DN but you need a subbed box for them.

I was thinking maybe the Asian satellites, "C" band on Intelsat 8 has a beam viewable from the west coast of the US and has a few Asian channels on it, (for any of the other ones you would have to be in Hawaii) but I don’t know where this guy lives.

He'd have to be really west in order to see that bird. Atlantic side sats are almost all exclusively Spanish and Pertuguese with few exceptions.
