Hey Guys,
I've just been scanning thru the forums because I'm about to install a dish and reciever at the cottage where I have no hi-speed internet. What I'm looking for is a list of birds that I can aim my dish at to pick up some "true" FTA.
Can anyone guide me to any threads on this subject, or any sites that might help (other than lyngsat,I haven't been able to make sense of any of the info on that site?)
HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! and thanks guys!!!!!

Have a look at this, I'm assuming your setting up a ku dish. You'll need a dish of approx. 33-48" and a linear lnb, slap a motor on it and access about 20 sats.

If you look at the whole thread you'll see all ku fta channels in the clear from 15-125w.

Here is some great info for you right here at Satfix
WillDekkard - Ku-Band True FTA Channel Listings (http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?t=3125)
costactc - My Arc 2 (http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?t=17918)
and his - My Arc (http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?t=15182)
Those are the best threads to start from IMO.
Also check the "Report Ku Band Feeds Here" thread for day to day info for what they call wildfeeds & backhauls.
You never know what is up at any given moment, you might see raw reporter feeds, Oil spill coverage, sports, car racing, etc.
You would need a motor though to be able to take true advantage of whats up there.
Another thing to consider would be a BUD if the size of it isn't a issue at the cottage. There is a lot more ITC [In the clear] on C band the Ku.
Good Luck with your setup.
