I have now a dish 500 with two standard single lnb's working on two bird's. I want to add another dish 500 with a dual dish pro lnb, do I need to run a cable from each side of the dish pro lnb to my diseqc 4 in 1 switch or just one cable from the dish pro lnb? I've not had much experence with dual lnb's, try to stay with single lnb's so if one goes bad want have to change but one. I know I have to change the lnb setting on my receiver. Thanks for any help in this matter. I've managed to come across four or five dish pro lnb's for free, that's why I'm trying to use the dual lnb. Thanks

is this what you are calling a dual?
Picture is a twin

A dual DP LNB is still only good for one satellite so all you need is a single coax, unless you’re confused and have a DP twin LNB then you have two LNB's in one package.

It also depends on what two birds you’re looking at, with 110/119 on a DP twin you need the two coaxes to the switch, 1 to port 1 and another to port 2, and setting 119 as the # 1 switch port and 110 as the #2 in your satellite menus.

Yes you can, but not worth the confusion.

Easiest way is to use a SW-21 or an Ecoda 22KHz switch.

Port-1 to Port-1 & Port-2 to Port-2 ;)

Terry, as stated by DD you need to add a 22KHz or DN-Brand SW-21 switch to your system. If your going to use the 22KHz then one side is "22KHz-on" and the other side "22KHz-off", if using the SW-21 switch then one side is "SW-21-Dish1" and the other "SW-21-Dish2". For the Twin I'm guessing your going to grab 91W & 82W so 91 would be "Diseqc-1" & 82 would be "Diseqc-2".

Port-1 to Port-1 & Port-2 to Port-2 ;)

but if a DP quad (which a lot of members are not sure of what LNB they have) is brought into the mix then Port 1 or Port 3 (of the LNB) = Port 1 (of the diseqc), and Port 2 or Port 4 (of the LNB) = Port 2 (of the diseqc).....hince not worth the confusion!!!

lol....yes I guess it could be confusing, until someone explains it, and you always did a good job of explaining things
