The highly anticipated unification fight is official [reported late Tuesday night by Segura's manager on BoxingScene.com/Notifight.com].

World junior flyweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon, returns on August 28th when he faces Mexican champion Giovanni Segura, holder of the World Boxing Association (WBA) title, at the coliseum Mario "Quijote" Morales in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico in a presentation by PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP) and carried on "Pay Per View."

This was announced by the President of PRBBP [Puerto Rico Bext Boxing Promotions], Ivan Rivera, who said that "it's official, Ivan will be looking to unify his title on August 28 in Guaynabo. Finally I will give Calderon a unification clash and we will see two of the best boxers today fight."

Calderon (34-0-1 and six knockouts), who reigned as king of the 105 pound division with 12 successful title defenses, has six at 108 pounds, but was never able to have a unification fight at 105 because of different situations with the opponents.

The Puerto Rican fighter won a unanimous decision over Mexican Jesus Iribe on June 12 in New York for his eighteenth defense (between 105 and 108 pounds), which is the maximum for a Puerto Rican fighter.

In Segura, the islander will find a boxer who is 28 years old with a record of 24-1 and 20 knockouts and has three defenses of the WBA title at 108 pounds, which he won on March 14, 2009 by knocking out Caesar Canchila. The Aztec gladiator is aggressive with a good punch and good height, 5'4, for the junior flyweight division.

Soon more details of this huge event will be provided.
