Speaking to The Philippine Star, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao said that he wants to face Antonio Margarito in his backyard of Monterrey, Mexico. The fight is going to take place on November 13 for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title. There will be a catch-weight of 150-pounds involved.
“I like Mexico. It’s nice in Mexico. Let’s try Mexico,” said Pacquiao to the paper.
Pacquiao is waiting for his adviser, Mike Koncz, to arrive to Philippines. Pacquiao will review the proposal for the Margarito fight. He says Margarito is the likely choice for November.
"Most likely, it’s Margarito. He’s good. He knocked out Miguel Cotto. And he’s as tall as Oscar de la Hoya,” said Pacquiao. “I will train for eight weeks. Margarito is good. We must not underestimate his power. Starting next week, I will start running in the morning."
When the subject of Floyd Mayweather Jr. came up, Pacquiao said Floyd and his team don't want the fight.
“They never run out of reasons saying why it won’t happen. But the truth is they don’t want the fight,” said Pacquiao. “And they say so many nasty things about me. But I don’t mind. I won’t even say anything bad against them. Let’s show them that Filipinos know how to respect people.”

If nothing else at least we know Pac`s mindset going into this fight. He likes Mexico for the fight? That tells me he is sure he will KO Margarito---he wouldn`t fight in the other guy`s country when the guy is on a "comeback" trail, has something to prove and is fighting hungry. It`s obvious Pac isn`t taking this fight lightly----and he more than likely will indeed KO Margarito by the 7th rnd.
It also tells me what a class act Pac is by tending to business and not doing a hatchet job on PBF.

Let him fight Cotto in San Juan. Margarito is nothing without his wraps. Now his going down on weight just like they did to Cotto. We'll wait after Margarito and then let him come down to San Juan and give Cotto a rematch in 154pounds, not 150. Junior middleweight is 154pounds.

I think that this is Pacman's last fight.
His mother gave permission for 1 more fight, that's it.

Well Margarito's proffesional record is 45 fights,38 victories and 27 by the way of KO and i can almost agree that most weren't won by way of handwraps.Jmo!Peace!:D

You're correct in your analysis ,he fought Santos twice and use his head to try to beat him, but that was then .After the Cotto's fight which he was losing on the cards and because of the wraps got himself a ko in the 11th round, he hasn't been the same. Lost by ko with Mosley, to whom Cotto had a convincing win and didn't look good at all against Roberto García on his comeback. He doesn't hold any title, just a bad reputation.

You are absolutely right about this. The psyche has a lot to do with a person's performance. It was before the Mosley fight when his "cheating" was discovered. He was dead right there. It is like a golfer cheating on his score; or when he "double-touch" the ball with the putter and does not declare it. Next thing you know, it catches up with him.
The brain (conscience) has a way of "punishing guilt" - you just can't get away from that.
He has had a brilliant career otherwise (KO of Cintron and Martinez) but he is not the same man today. He would be easy picking for a stronger and faster boxer.

Some more, who tells me that Margarito wasn't using illegal wraps against Cintron ,Martinez and Cotto. Against Santos he didn't look good at all, Santos lost to Yuri Foreman and Cotto beat the hell out of Foreman. Shouldn't he fight Foreman first?
