A couple of nights ago in Miami, Oklahoma at the Buffalo Run Casino, the ESPN2 Friday Night Fights featured an anticipated entertaining fight card sporting in the 10 round main event two welterweights, Delvin Rodriguez and Ashley Theophane.

The advantage went to the Dominican born, but now California residing Rodriguez, who had become the darling of ESPN when the week prior to this bout the sports conglomerate had him as an "in-studio guest".

The United Kingdom fan favorite Theophane forgot to get his copy of the script as he took care of the startled Rodriguez who had no answer for the sometimes wild punches thrown by the confident, shorter, opponent by winning a majority decison victory.

Theophane (27-4-1, 7 KO's) rarely ventures far from his native land and was widely considered a huge underdog to Rodriguez (25-5-2, 14 KO's) now has the upper hand in the welterweight divisions' "major player" discussions.

Last night an HBO PAY-PER-VIEW mega-fight in Las Vegas featuring the once promising Juan "The baby bull" Diaz and the veteran Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez who is constantly begging for another shot at Manny Pacquiao, in the main event of a very nice fight card.

Daniel Jacobs of New York and Dimitry Pirog battled for the vacant WBO middleweight crown, while Robert "The ghost" Guerrero tangled with aging former Cuban star Joel Casamayor in a 10 round junior welterweight bout, and Jorge Linares stepped in with the ring aged, but always competitive Rocky Juarez in a 10 round lightweight encounter.

Marquez (36 years-old, 51-5-1, 37 KO's), Guerrero (27 years-old, 27-1-1, 18 KO's) and Linares (24 years-old, 29-1, 18 KO's), all left with wins that were victories albeit none very impressive.

The three stars were able to pull out wins by unanimous decisions that were all supposed to end with "win by TKO" attached.

Daniel Jacobs was not so lucky as he was shocked and stopped in the 5th round by the determined Russian Dimitry Pirog (30 years-old 17-0, 14 KO's) to claim the WBO middleweight title.

The talk will surround whether or not Marquez deserves another shot at Pacquiao, does Guerrero really have the "star power" he once was thought to possess, can Linares continue to make a move in the lightweight division, and is Pirog the "real deal" amongst the middleweights.

Although a fairly entertaining weekend of professional boxing, there were no definitive answers from the fighters who hope to be featured in future PPV match-ups.

After this past weekend, "What's next"? is all that we are really left with.
