Juan Manuel Marquez-Michael Katsidis ordered by the WBO

BoxingScene.com had been advised that the WBO ordered their lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez to defend his title against the interim-champion/mandatory challenger Michael Katsidis. The WBO has given both sides 30-days to reach an agreement before a purse bid is ordered. Both fighters are promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.

Marquez will have to make a decision very soon. The Mexican champion is the frontrunner to face WBA 140-pound king Amir Khan on December 11. If Marquez decides to move up in weight to fight Khan, the WBO will strip him of their title and make Katsidis the full champion.

Wow, that is great news. They (WBO) are actually doing something to stir up boxing (getting contenders what they rightfully deserve)!

Marquez dreams of multi-millions in his quest for a Pacquiao match (which will not happen). Now he has to concentrate on boxing and defend his title.

By the way, the 8000 people in attendance in the Marquez/Diaz fight shows how much people care about "orchestrated" PPV matches.

(2nd by the way - where the heck are all the boxing afficionados: Todd, Cobra, Zoink, etc. etc. etc. Ramon, we gotta get some Hooters on this site to stir up some interest.
