Not that I know of. I've never heard of any fta box that will read the signal on that provider. Even some sat finders cannot catch it. Are you worried about obstructions in the line of sight?

If you have a Starchoice Dish then why not use the Starchoice LNB? You will need a Starchoice receiver as all channels are encrypted(digicypher II), however if the receiver was previously active you will receive about 5 channels FTA. The only FTA receiver that I know of that will scan in those channels is a SkyWalker-2 and they may not be visible?

Fortunately the choice sats are not far off from 110.0W at 107.3W & 111.1W.

You could use any ku band dish and a standard or universal lineal L N B F to get your star choice signal. If it were me would find 30’’ or bigger dish with a standard lineal L N B and leave dish forever at the cottage
Take receiver with you when you go to cottage. Bring receiver home when done at the cottage.
Good luck

I just did a blind scan on anik f1 107.3 west and it Scand in a scrambled
CBC feed blue and green lines. Fairly strong quality reading around 55-60%.
Freq 11949-pol H s/r 5859-fec ¾

So I think you can take your FTA receiver and use that transponder to tune in on.
Also there were other transponders with strong signals that did not scan in that you could also use to tune in on. O yeah I used a captive works 600 s receiver and a 36’’ fortec star dish to do this scan with.
good luck

Yes, as indicated by previous posts, 107.3W is an SC satellite. :)

Hi belugas
Yes absolutely this is the same sat you are getting your star choice from, which has changed it’s name to Shaw- Direct now.
I was getting signal from some other tp’s also that you could try to use to tune in on but that one was the only one that scanned in on my receiver.
Pm me if you like. Like Stman says Anik F1R at 107.3west is the one for SC.
Have a look at lyngsat.
good luck

I dont think an FTA receiver will pick up the TP's for shaw, I found the TP that Sechelpaul posted (thanks for the TP on that one) but nothing else on any of the other TP's.

So unless that TP is on all the time and is not just a wild feed and will olny be there a few hours or days you might be out of luck using an FTA receiver to find these birds.

Yes, looking at lyngsat, the only tps that are DVB are wild feeds. Those won't be active all the time.

Good point Terryl brings up. My not be active all the time.
Another way you could do it is get an old star choice receiver and use it to tune in on.
If it’s had a legitimate past it will pickup the few open FTA channels.
Some one has posted this here already. It was Willdekkard
I have 4 old sc receivers and the all work for the few open FTA channels I use it to tune in my sc sub I have here.
I got 3 from one of the local in sat guys. He had stacks of receivers he was selling cheap.
$ 5 bucks each. He had thrown out about 50 receivers because everyone gets a new one and no one wants an old one. And a neighbor gave me one he did not use. Not hard to get.
Also I use one of the 18x32 inch elliptical dish with the dual l n b f but any KU dish with a lineal l n b will work. Personal I have better luck with standard but universal will work.
Is there a local install guy that could check for a signal or is this in the bush I guess?mybe some one there will let you use there receiver to see.
beer my help.
