These recent weeks, so many name brands are in trouble.

I think Big Brothers are closing in against the coders. One way is to shut down the North AM sites to cut off the distributing network. Another way to bring them to courts. This strategy is to cripple the coders operation so impatient testers will move to sub, eventually less new testers to come into this field.
I have a feeling Big Brothers will cross the oceans to attack the off-shore sites in the near future. Don't say that it is impossible. For mutual political, business reasons, off-shore countries may give a nod to Big Brothers to start legal battle front over there. (even though they don't want to shut down those sites)

I now stop buying new STB, as I owned nF and SV. I start this testing few months before N3. I am a light user, just turn on the TV and have something to watch. Unfortunately, a lot of rerun programs and keep surfing the channels. I tell myself , if I pay to sub, it is a waste of money/time. When I am watching TV, nothing is interesting. When there is good program, I am too busy. I am a conservative person, just know how to turn on/off the TV, I don't use PVR for the reason not to make my entertainment to be complicated

In order to build the Ark preparing 2012. I move to stream line IPTV straight from the local/international TV stations on my own TV watching schedule. They are commercial free. There is a new TV with wireless connection to router for this purpose. Once this technology is mature with good SD/HD . I believe this is a good investment. Of course I have to pump up the subscription fee on internet bandwidth. Right now I have 3 Mbps and have good viewing on this laptop. I will double to 6Mbps when it is worth.

Another alternate exit is OTA for local news coverage. That means I will be in front of the TV for 1 hour evening news hour.

These are my points of view, you are welcome to tell how/what you will do in 2012.

I just have a computer hooked to my tv.

Its a really fast quad core computer with 8gb of ram, a terabyte hard drive, and a 1gb HD video card, and a blue ray/dvd burner, wireless keyboard and mouse for comfort...

So I just download what I wanna watch, surf through youtube, or rent high def blue ray movies and play them through the computer. plus its online, and its a normal everyday high end pc, so you can do whatever u want with it. Email, Surf, Games, Editing, Instant messaging, web cam chat, whatever.... :grr:
