blank screen

my laptop will have a blank screen after logining in

what could be the problem?

i would try "safe mode" since it uses lower resolution settings. you need to press F8 during boot and select "safe mode" from the menu list by scrolling with your arrow keys.

if you can access "safe mode" then try to change the video settings such as resolution or color depth and then reboot.

if your video is shared memory from your ram that could indicate faulty ram.

just some ideas to check out.

Perhaps it is switching to the external monitor port upon boot. Find the hotkey for the ext monitor and press that key with the Fn key
