premature shut down

i have acer aspire computer with xp window home edition. my problem is that the computer shut down after 45 min to 1 hours used and then it would not restart i have to wait for at least one hour before i can use again. does anybody knows where is the problem or should i send for repair thank you for your help

Sounds like the PC needs a good dusting out on the inside, if it gets too hot it will shut down, if you don’t feel comfortable doing this take it to someone who repairs computers.

If you do decide to do this be careful as to what you touch or clean as you can mess things up, a vacuum works well and a can of compressed air will get the hard to reach areas, but again be carful.

And don’t forget to clean out the power supply. (unplug everything from the PC first)

sounds like fan is broken which will cause a thermal shutdown of the PC. replace the power supply or replace the CPU fan.
