By Eric Thomas: Just moments ago, former two-time welterweight champion Antonio Margarito was rejected in attempting to get his boxing license back by the California Athletic Commission by a 5-1 vote with three not voting. Margarito will now have to hope that the Texas Athletic Commission will grant him a boxing license to fight in the U.S. Pacquiao’s advertiser, Michael Koncz, has said recently that there’s a good chance that Pacquiao will be licensed by the Texas Commission. If so, then Margarito’s prayer’s are answered. If they say no, then the Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight will likely head to Monterrey, Mexico for November 13th. In hindsight, Bob Arum, the promoter for Margarito and Pacquiao, perhaps should have waited until Margarito had successfully gotten his boxing license back before choosing him as Pacquiao’s next opponent.
