Promoter Don King has advised BoxingScene.com that he plans to meet with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the coming days to continue their discussions about a possible working relationship. King's goal is to make the fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
"I spoke to him last night. He called to wish me a happy birthday. He was suppossed to be here on my birthday, but something came up with family. He'll be down here. I'll be talking to him again," King told BoxingScene.com. "I can generate more money for him than anyone else in the world. I can make the Pacquiao fight with Bob Arum in a blink of an eye."
Mayweather has worked with Golden Boy Promotions for his last four fights. Golden Boy's CEO Richard Schaefer is confident Mayweather will continue working with them in the future. King is not so sure.
"If he was happy then he wouldn't be coming here," King said. "They treat him like he's insignificant...like he means nothing."
