I really don't understand why people are knocking a fight which has the potential to re-invigorate Britain’s affinity with heavyweight boxing. It doesn’t make any sense.

There is a question of why David Haye has taken this fight, when he should be looking for bigger fish. But if other options are not available, then he is right to take on Audley Harrison.

It will really capture the imagination of the public, although both fighters need to choose their words more carefully.

All-British title fights are always a cut above the rest; the passion and drama they create. We’re a tribal nation and fights like this capture the country’s imagination — like a local derby in football. Prepare yourself for fireworks, Audley and David are both going to come out trying to land a knockout blow.

Haye is defending his title, his honour and Harrison has nothing to lose after his period in the wilderness. It is set up perfectly.

Heavyweight boxing in Britain lacks needle right now, that vital edge. The sport needs this fight. There is history between the two of them and you could see that yesterday, when they were aggressive in their language.

They are clearly trying to sell the fight with their words, but they must not overstep the mark. Some of the language on Tuesday was distasteful. Clearly, there is little respect between these London-born fighters.

In the ring, this has the potential to breathe life back into the old fight game. The only sad thing about a night like this is that Harry Carpenter won’t be there to call it. I remember when I fought and these nights were made for Mr Boxing on the BBC

Truly, it`ll be a battle of "hay-makers"-----both gotta be very careful their emotions once in the ring don`t get the best of them. I`m expecting a little taunting from who ever lands the first telling blow. Like I said in another thread----I like this kinda fight, where the guys truly don`t like each other, it adds an extra dimension to a fight.
