According to a report in The Philippine Star , Manny Pacquiao was taken to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center Friday evening after complaining of pain on his left foot shortly after going through a two hour workout at the Elorde Gym in Quezon City. Pacquiao had an MRI done and there was no sign of a serious injury.

"The doctor said it was nothing. There was some swelling. Maybe it was pulled during the workout,” Pacquiao told the paper.

Trainer Freddie Roach was concerned but told the paper that it shouldn't cause any issues with camp as Pacquiao was still able to move well in the ring.

“It’s not an injury we’ve never had before,” said Roach said. “We’ll try to get it out of the way as soon as possible. We know how to deal with it. It’s just a little pull probably. But he moved pretty well today. He beat the sh*t out of me. He got me winded."

Manny Pacquiao is ready to begin the sparring phase of his training camp on Tuesday. His trainer Freddie Roach is expecting at least 150 rounds of sparring to prepare Pacquiao for the fight with Antonio Margarito on November 27 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Roach told GMA News that Glen Tapia is sidelined with a bad stomach ache and won't be sparring Pacquiao for the moment. Pacquiao will spar for three rounds with Michael Medina on Tuesday to brush away the early rust from not fighting since the March win over Joshua Clottey.

Pacquiao's sore left foot was a thing of the past as he jogged and worked out at Burnham Park on Monday. There was minor concern last Friday when Pacquiao went to a local hospital with complaints of pain and swelling in his left foot.

Roach expects two more sparring partners, Rashad Holloway and Vanes Matirosyan, to arrive next week.
