Update on WWE Unifying the Top Titles

- Vince McMahon has gone back and forth on the time frame for unifying the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship, reports the Pro Wrestling Torch. At times he has wanted the unification to take place within 30 days, but company officials have urged him to wait until WrestleMania XXVII.

Many within the company feel they need to place the titles on the proper people and position them strongly in order to make the unification match a major event.

Though McMahon has come off adamant about unifying the titles, no one has ruled out the possibility of the WWE Chairman having a change of heart

i still think its a bad idea but would be a great match. right now the top two guys in my opinion would be orton for raw and taker for smackdown but by march or april ya never know but im thinking cena and taker. be good either way.

It could be good, but i think 1 belt might be too much for all the tops stars right now...even in the future

if they do it they need to get back to the basics. the raw vs smackdown is over and back to one wwe brand. start cutting back on the rooster so you can give good air time to all the top stars and the new comers . clean up some of the dead weight filler match guys and get rid of them (maybe tna can get a few more ). one heavy weight champ belt for a true heavy weight (sorry ray .. get over it ) and let him carry it for a good amount of time not turning it over every other month. now the intercontinental belt can be past around for the other guys as sees fit . one tag team belt and that can held by a team like on a quarterly basis with a few quick flip flops in between just to keep it interesting. one wwe womans title and they can cut some dead weight in that area too. now with that said all wrestlers are seen on both smackdown and raw and champ matches can be seen on both shows so one wont be favored more then the other. last thing cut back on the ppv (13 is too many) and throw a bone to fans and give them a good card on regular tv. post 4 of this thread is excellent. great job swanone. i remember when i started watching wrestling, hulk had just lost his belt after i think a 3 year run. right around WMIV i think. that was a good time for wwe (wwf) and no one could take down the hulkster so every ppv was exciting cause either people wanted to see him win yet again or those that wanted to see him lose. after that the title started being handed around more and more. i think macho man held it for a year but then as swan said, every month or two. im at the point now where the belt dont mean much really. i just like to see a good show like shawn and HHH used to put on and like Morrison and orton can do. as far cena well, not a great performer but he can talk and that goes far now a days.

i just remember how it use to be and what brought them to the dance. when you grow from a territory to taking over the world something is working. i know you have to continue to grow and cant live in the past or you get left behind. but spreading yourself so thin that your transparent isnt doing it
