WBC President Jose Sulaiman has continued to push for a bout between rising junior middleweight superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (34-0-1, 26KOs) and former three weight division champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-6, 39KOs). Alvarez is scheduled to fight in Mexico on December 4.
The name of Matthew Hatton has been rumored as the opponent, but Sulaiman thinks Alvarez is ready for the likes of Molsey and hopes Golden Boy Promotions will match the two stablemates.
"Alvarez is ready. He has greatly improved his technique and his way of fighting. I think he can easily face more demanding opponents. It comes naturally for him and this young man has great qualities," said Sulaiman.
"Canelo and Shane Mosley would be an explosive combination that would make a lot of money for the fighters and promoters. Hopefully they can carry this out by December at a venue to be determined."
