Rafael Marquez (39-5, 35KOs) is preparing himself for a very tough battle on November 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He challenges Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26KOs) for the WBO featherweight title. Marquez wants to badly capture the title to give himself a belt in his third weight class.

"It motivates me to fight a strong fighter like Lopez. I train with more intensity each day in order to demonstrate that I can still continue in boxing for a while," said Marquez, 35-years-old, to reporter Carlos Gonzalez.

Marquez has been studying tapes of Juanma. The fight that sticks in his head is the near loss to fringe contender Rogers Mtagwa in October 2009. Juanma was on the verge of being stopped before reaching the final bell.

"Juanma is a fighter who does box and hits hard with both hands, and moves forward all the time from the moment the bell rings. I know it will be a physical fight, but I am 100% mentally and physically prepared," Marquez said. "Mtagwa almost won their fight in the end. So he is vulnerable"

Everyone is vulnerable in this busyness, Juanma demonstrated that he's got a strong jaw and could go 12 rounds. Now can Marquez take his punches and go the distance with him. I think he to old for that. jmo :innocent:
