Four months not so bad dont know too much about canadian jail time but he should get some time off that sentence for good time. The 267,000. hurts. Got to give him credit though for not giving the hard drives up but makes you wonder why he would keep sensitive information in a business knowing the heat is on because of the first bust.

If you read those documents its a sentence for destruction or withholding evidence.. There is no mention of conviction of signal theft. That case is yet to come..

That would most likely be a civil matter. Once a money judgment is entered against him for that, he could simply pull a BK, and escape all monetary damage awards.

Actually he got 2 Four month sentences to be served one after another BUT his wife also got a 2 month sentence and because they have kids he is to serve 4 months then be let out for Her to serve her 2 month then he goes back in the can to serve his last 4 month sentence.
Also ses the courts say this about the sentence...."There is no
eligibility for parole or remission from the correctional institution in respect of either sentence"....that kind sucks.

Actually in Canadian law concurrently means he will only serve 4 months, the two 4 month sentences run together. If his sentences had been consecutive he would be serving 8 months or one after another.

I believe your up for parole after one third or half the sentence.. The way jails are over filled he may be in only weekends at best..

Sentence Calculation: A Handbook for Judges, Lawyers and Correctional Officials
1) Consecutive and Concurrent Sentences
Offenders convicted of multiple offences are subject to:
■consecutive sentences,
■concurrent sentences (which include sentences with clear direction from the Court that the sentence is to be served “concurrently” and when no direction is given by the Court, i.e., sentence is “silent”), or
■acombination of both.
You see most sentences in Canada served concurrently but get the judge mad at you and your doing consecutive.

Must be the new revised Canadian law
only automatic concurrent sentence I know of is if you're already sentenced and you have unpaid fines
example..$400 or 40 days
now if you're already in jail you do the greater amount of time
so if you still have 60 days left the 40 runs concurrent

username “Superstar”. Superstar’s posts provide updates regarding the encrypted programming of the Plaintiffs, provide support for decrypting the Plaintiffs’ programming, and post so-called piracy files.

this Nigel Jones should be able to crack nagra3, like 1+1=2
to bad he is not on the right side, :tehe:
[8] The Jones’ Expert Report describes certain technical specifications and design elements of the nFusion Nuvenio HD and nFusion HD FTA receivers which enable end-users of these receivers to descramble the Plaintiffs’ encrypted satellite signals and circumvent technological measures that protect access to copyrighted works.
As set forth in the affidavit (in particular at paras. 21 and 22) of Jerry Lee Gee, affiant for the Plaintiffs, if placed in the public domain, the level of technological detail provided in the Expert Report could be used as a ‘blueprint’ by manufacturers of nFusion FTA receivers to mask aspects of their design which now suggest that they were designed for use in satellite piracy.
As well, if placed in the public domain, the level of technological detail provided in the Expert Report could be used by third parties to design other
devices and software capable of infringing the Plaintiffs’ trade secrets, descrambling their encrypted satellite signals, and circumventing technological measures that protect access to copyrighted and other proprietary works.
