The Comet Hartley 2 should be visible from Oct 6th through to the end of the year.
Look to the top of the constellation of Cassiopeia, it should be located just above the center of the big W, in some areas with out a lot of light pollution it could be visible to the naked eye, binoculars or a good telescope would help, on October 20th the comet will be at its closest to the Earth, by then it will be well into the constellation of Perseus.
