i just bought a dmx5421 monoblock single lnb 4 degree.
i want to get 97west and 101west linear.
i hook it up and install it ok.
my problem is after skewing i get 90% on 97west and only 10% on 101west.
i move the 101 to the main block and i cant get a signal.
i then move it to 97west and 93west, and both signals are perfect. but still having problems getting 97w and 101w.
has anyone ever tired this lnb before,? if so.. some help need urgently

I'm not familiar with it, but I am familiar with DMX. They have a built in 22KHz switch I believe, so you will have to set your receiver to

Port 1 for 97
Port 2 for 101

"I Think" hehehe

At least that's how my DMX741 & DMX741U work :grr:

Also I would like to add: You may have to "turn on" your 22KHz on 101...In the receiver menu.

I'm not familiar with that lnbf but have used many dmx lnb in the past. I did a bit of research on this ku universal lnbf with internal switch and as Gold mentioned in previous post you must make sure that you assign the proper port for your switch.

i know that it has a built in switch, i assigned each sat to its lnb. and i have the 101 in the center, but no luck.
i then try to find it with another universal and the signal on 97 is high but only 10% on 101 after finding and skewing it.

i was on this sat, back up in the year and it was working.
it the new ses101 sat the cause, i am in the carribean.

I don't know much how the signal is effected being in the Caribbean for SES1 Ku. Is it good on your foot print?

Here is a link to the instructions.

I'm sorry my friend I am shooting in the dark. I don't understand it either. My last suggestion might be to call Robbie @ the number in the pdf

thanks but i already had that, also did some reading and found out that this sat is having problems, the tp signals fade out in the nights, and for some early in the morning

I thought that was for the old sat AMC 4. I thought the new sat SES1 fixed that :noidea:

I live in SW Missouri & fortunately never experienced any trouble here

The old satellite AMC 4 – 101 west was having problems. SES-1 is a brand new satellite and has no issues that I know of now.

what area are you in, and whats the strongest tp you get?

SW Missouri
I watch C & Ku on my 10' BUD but these are some regulars...I don't know, but would guess my quality is in the upper 80's

How are you moving the Dish?

By motor?

By hand?

I am near Vancouver west coast Canada
Strong tp right now for me is 12060 H 26700 ¾
Quality is around 61% and signal strength is around 87%

Signal strength is between the L N B F and the receiver. It’s what's coming down the line.
Quality is from the satellite to the L N B F on the end of the dish arm.

He has a stationary dish I believe Terryl & is using a 4° LNBF

My guess would be that the TP list for 101 is old and he is not looking at active signal--only a couple of FTA TP are on the sat. 101 and 97 come in quite strong with little change in skew between--I do see that on 97 some TP require a little azmuth tweeking to get strongest signal compared to other TP on the same sat so you end up with a compromise.

As he says here* he moves the dish to another set of satellites, if he is using a motorized setup it could be slightly out of plumb, if so the LNB wont be lined up correctly for that set of satellites.

Ooops.. hehe I missed that

Yah I almost did too, I have found that if the dish is motorized and out of plumb trying to use a dual satellite LNB can be very tricky on a motorized system, the LNB has to be lined up even tighter then a standard single LNB, on a single LNB the dish/motor can be a bit out of alignment with out a problem.

With a 2 satellite LNB the alignment has to be even tighter then normal, as the motor tracks the arc the dish is skewed to keep the LNB aligned, with a 2 satellite setup the skew has to be exact or one bird will have a lower “Q” then the other.
