got a friend that just moved into a trailer park that gives wifi they can use, no cable, so question to experts as I have never tried any of this.
he can use his laptop to get internet service, so what would he use to get iks hooked up, my knowledge is only with a router(normal connection) can his laptop be used to hard wire to box? or will he need a wrt bridge, what options does he have, lost at the moment here, thanks guy'

he also needs to go to wireless network connection properties and make sure " allow other network users to connect through " is checked . i also have "allow other network users to control" checked also .

Here is a guide to setting up a repeater using a wireless router.
This will not only give your friend an option of IKS to your friend's receiver, but other local (in house) wired / wireless connections that he can control as well.
