Before Nimiq2 was replaced with Nimiq4(82.0W), I had received lower Signal Quality. So I replaced the LNB as it was "weak" and achieved much improved quality. Once Nimiq4 came into position the quality readings on that sat are mostly 100% with none lower then 96% using a Bell Receiver.

Now the problem was with the mildest in-climate weather I have been experiencing signal loss on Nimiq1(91.0W) on some channels with the Bell Receiver. So I replaced the LNB which was a Bell Legacy Dual LNB with an Eagle Aspen Dual DTV LNB as I did before for 82.0W.

Below is a list of Signal Strength for each TP(old LNB in red & the new LNB in blue):
01. 70 - 80
02. 46 - 78
03. 77 - 87
04. 57 - 86
05. 78 - 87
06. 57 - 84
07. 78 - 87
08. 55 - 83
09. 79 - 89
10. 60 - 86
12. 57 - 85
13. 73 - 86
14. 55 - 85
15. 65 - 77
16. 45 - 71
17. 78 - 87
18. 57 - 86
19. 64 - 77
20. 50 - 73
21. 80 - 91
22. 59 - 85
23. 77 - 87
24. 65 - 85
25. 78 - 87
26. 70 - 86
27. 65 - 75
28. 58 - 74
29. 68 - 80
30. 58 - 77
31. 61 - 75
32. 59 - 75

As you can see that before the lowest signal strength was 45% and now that TP is 71%.

Maintenance of your equipment is required and unfortunately so is replacement.

What if you put the old lnb in the 'oven' for an hour or so to dry it out at low temps.

Would be interesting to see if there is an increase in readings.

Baked LNB ? :cook: Sounds delicious and after baking it it may "look" better !

The LO in the old LNB may have driffted off frequency, this can cause a lower then normal "S" reading, not much you can do to fix this except replace the LNB.
