I ordered my DMX741U Oct 20 and it's still not here.I told them I'd wait 'till Wed.("7-14 businessdays to Canada")I know they have a good rep ,I'm just wondering about any 'time limit'.?

Coming fro the Usa via usps? If that's the case it can sit in canadian customs 1-4 weeks.

I ordered an openbox from a different dealer in the States, it crossed the border in two days and then it was sitting in Canada customs for two weeks..Seems to be just your luck, some pass right...

That's brutal!
It seems like that is taking a long time for you.
I gotta admit it kinda bug's me when I order something & it doesn't make it. I went to the lumber yard I need just 4ea 5x5x20's The ones they have are the bottom of the stack, twisted, bent, bowed, etc. I asked when they were going to order more...They only have a dozen. he said end of this week or next. I would like to get my project done before the weekend, so I can't imagine how bad you're ready to get this going.
I will probably make 120 mile trip early Wednesday to pick up 4 5x5x20'

When my son was still in school, about 8yr ago,he ordered an old bottom end of an Artic Cat engine for the crank,$10oo,on flea bay, from SD/Minasotta?,by courier. On my credit card, prepaid courier,and...
Pretty rural my friend. I am 4.5 miles from Grovespring, which has a Post Office, a Feed store, a small grocery, gas station, & 3 churches, with a population of about 50 downtown Grovespring...
We go shopping 20 miles to the north in a town called Lebanon. Lebanon has many small towns around it. The normal population 12,500. On Fridays there is about 40,000 that go through there.
The next large town to me is Springfield, home of Bass Pro Shops
Springfield is 60 mile one way. After I feed the calves early Wednesday I'm going to load up the trailer & run down there.
Springfield pop is 160,000. so there is plenty to do there.
When it's all together you will enjoy your dish. Can you get to the LNB easy enough when you get the dish up there?
It will take a bit of adjusting at first

Mirror image?I live 7Km/5 mi outside Oxford,NS,pop 1300:small grocery store.several churches,lumber/hardware store,tiny library,1 gas station,Tim Hortons(Coffee shop),a metal fabrication shop,and 1 gigantic frozen food plant.About 35 mi is Amherst about 11,000,2 malls,seperate WalMart,etc.Moncton,NB is about 70mi,pop 125,000? and 110mi away (in the opposite direction is Halifax/Dartmouth(HRM)pop 455,000(Where my son lives).My hometown(and Ann Murray's),Springhill,is about 15 mi,pop 4,200.Yea,I think I know how you feel.
:hehe:You know your rural when you can name all the buildings in town

Gould,I figured you must be in a rural area like me.The upright 4x4 in my setup had to go back because it was warped,I let the yard guy pick it out.I don't like shopping there because 505 of the time they don't have what I want so I have to go 40 mi to Amherst(The only town in the county large enough to have malls). The upper (3rd) horizontal 4x4 is not quite visible in the picture.
That's the problem with using wood for dish poles... Maybe treated wood wouldn't be so bad???
A metal pole will never warp and will stay plumb as long as it's installed properly to begin with. A well drilling or steel company may have some 3" pipe laying around that would work...

Thanks SatChic. It is on a steel pole,4 1/2" down to 3 1/2";1/4"well casing(?).The vertical 4x4 is plumb in one axis and I plumbed the pipe itself in the other axis, making the pipe plumb on all sides.(See the pics in my above post.)The blue (MacDonalds) paint is a commercial rubberized paint. If the rain ever stops,I might go with the Cband only LNB for the winter if I can reconnect wires to the servo which were cut off flush. My DMX 741u still has not arrived from Hyper that I ordered late evening of Oct19.

ooo I see it now, the steel doesn't touch the ground but it held up by the wood. Must have missed that the first time.

I ordered it late evening of Oct 19.It was shipped next day.Today is the 18th.
It took 4 weeks and a day.I don't blame Hyper,just Canada Customs and 'Mr.Murphy'.

Thanks.:thumbsup:The long range forecast looks like a few sunny days a week from today. If its not too windy, with a pair of no-finger gloves I might have a chance. The temps are supposed to remain around the freezing mark.
I'm thinking even if I can get 91w for the winter I'll be lucky.
