Is there a way to take an sat in cable, and send it to two different receivers?

It depends on the type of LNB(s) you have, most DP LNB's have 2 outputs, (and almost all other LNB's) just run a second coax, it’s the best way, no problems with one receiver trying to be on a different polarity transponder then the other one.
If you have more then 1 LNB a switch would be required.
More info on your setup would help us a bit.

I have a dual lnb dish, but it is a great distance away, so I would like the incoming cable to feed both my receivers. What kind of switch does this. The other thing is, when you use the loop out on the receiver is that the same as being hooked up to the same dish?

i think a 4x4 switch will work for ya.
i've tried the loop out thing and found i could only run one receiver at a time.
check the switch section for diagrams.

You can't split the incoming coax to run two receivers at the same time, as they'll interfere with each other. The loop out requires the master receiver to be in standby for the second to work, so you can only use one at a time that way.
Is the dish mounted to the house, or on a pole in the yard? If it's on the house, it's not too bad to bring the cable inside. There are tools out there to make fishing the cable around inside very easy...
