so limewire was shut down on their site about 2 weeks ago now
I opened limewire and tried a song and it all worked as it normally did? Curious as to why that is so?

I dumped Limewire as soon as that news hit. Not sure I'd be attempting any more downloads if I were you, even if it appears to work.

I have no idea why people keep using P2P applications for downloading.
Many of them are full of viruses anyway. Limewire is famous for that. Anyone ever try searching their name on there and see all the files found ? Yep viruses..
All P2P users should do themselves a favor and stick with the link host sites, a download manager and a good anonymous proxy list... Everything you want is out there without seeding and P2P...
I wonder too what was so different about Limewire... Rapidshare won their case...

frostwire up until recently was the best but there are allot of infected files that display the message "this is a limewire/frostwire court settlement" yadda yadda most people can identify whats real and what isn't but if you want a good hint try goggling emp3world lots of music there and easy to dl. Hopes this helps have a good one bromo

I am done messing with this program. (Vuze)
Some like it as they are new at torrents and some aren't.
This is nothing other than a torrent search and playing/streaming app. A web search then the other option is a meta search. Torrent sites contain nothing but junk.
The main issue I have with this program is the fact that it comes with no uninstaller and to get rid of it, you need to go through add/remove programs then after you reboot you have to run a search for all files and I mean all, hidden etc. and it has a bunch of dll files embedded everywhere as well as a few other things. Oh ya I forgot to mention the fact when you are in add/remove menu, there are actually 2 programs there to remove.
Anyway...long story short, this is nothing than a free torrent search that if you want more sends you to pay for the plus+ version. Stick to a real BT client and good torrent sites.
I believe the site rules discuss torrent discussions so I will leave it at that.

I never really had a problem with Vuze myself but then I don't do a lot of messing with torrents either and yes the built in search engine in VUZE is a sorry piece of crap. Google search will find more torrent links than that thing. As long as you can find your torrent links someplace else it does all right in the dload department but like some people have mentioned there is better alternatives than P2P type of things

The MOST anon way of downloading ANYTHING is Usenet. Get a Usenet server account like Astraweb or Giganews, a newsreader program like Forte Agent and you have access to just about anything you might want. Just be careful what you upload. That will get you busted if you aren't secure or anon.

If your just looking for a certain song or two & not a whole album this is what I use.
There is something called Google Dorks. These are google hacks, using special commands we mislead google bot (the same bot which is responsible for crawling the webspace and get us results) to do the dirty work for us.
First lets see in normal terms how google responds to us when we search for this old classic song Hotel California performed by Eagles. As you can see we end up with tons of results as every one of them either asking you to purchase the tracks..so on.. all of us done this before and we clearly know there is no place to get the files downloaded for free.
Now lets hack…
Here is the code I’m going to use it in the Google search field.
?intitle:index.of? mp3 Song name
?intitle:index.of? mp3 Hotel California
Google returned us all the hosts/servers which holds the file named hotel california.mp3. Then you just find one of the servers you can save the file from and enjoy.

I like using the youtube mp3 converter ...youtube-mp3 dot org, you just find a song on youtube that you like then copy the address and paste it in the youtube-mp3 dot org and press convert, then once converted, you just save as in you itunes library or where ever you keep you music library.
