METAIRIE, La. – New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush participated in practice Wednesday on a limited basis as he continues to point for a return to the lineup Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks in the Superdome.

Bush has not played since he broke his fibula in a Week 2 Monday night game against San Francisco. He practiced on a limited basis prior to the Saints' 34-3 victory at Carolina in Week 9 but was inactive for a seventh straight game.

"It felt pretty good today," Bush said. "It was a little stiff at first, but once I got running around, it felt all right.

"I'm just kind of taking it day by day at this point, looking to get back out there this weekend. Obviously, the final decision will come toward the end of the week. I feel like this is a good week to get out there."

The one thing Bush won't be able to simulate before Sunday is contact.

"If it were up to me, I’d have been playing, even with a broken leg," Bush said. "The biggest thing is just going to … see how it feels when you take a hit. I don't care what kind of injury you have, that's always the No. 1 thing."

A return by Bush would only enhance the league’s seventh-ranked offense, which has used a running back combination of rookie free agent Chris Ivory and veterans Ladell Betts and Julius Jones.

"Any time you can get (Bush) the ball in space, he's a matchup problem," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said. "He changes (the defensive) game plan for certain formations and groups, just because you've got to account for him."

I bet having Bush back in the lineup will instantly put up the same points they did last season...defenses tend to adjust when he is in the game
