Well my dpp lnb went out, so im reverting to legacy to lnb. Never tried this so having problems. If i connect to the disq that came with box, no signal. if i connect one coax directly to box from lnb only one sat. what do i need for both sats.

of course nano 2 box, forgot to mention

LNB went out??? (How do you know its the LNB?)
How?? (What caused it??)
If the LNB is toast then your switch may be toast also.
Note:
A legacy LNB will need a legacy switch, it will be labeled 14V on one port and 18V on the other, these go to the LNB’s 14 and 18 volt ports, the receiver will connect to the output.

well don't know exactly if it went out i had no signal and changed to legacy like i mentioned. but now not even the legacy is working. dont know what happened now.
any ideas?

It is very rare for an LNB to just stop working; and there may be another problem if the other LNB won’t work ether.
Did you power the receiver off with the switch in back before disconnecting anything?
If not then disconnect the coax from the LNB (power off first) and use a DVM* to check to see if you have 14 to 18 volts DC on the LNB input connector on the receiver, you can use a small paper clip or piece of center conductor for this.
(* If you don’t have a DVM you can get one at Radio Shack)

yes, powered off from back, changed lnb, checked coax all the way from lnb to receiver. Is there another way to check besides with a DVM?

Well a DVM is the best way, maybe you have a friend with one?
It will also be a good way to check if the coax has a short in it.
One other thing, do you have an "S" reading on the receiver when one or the other LNB is connected?
You could use a short coax jumper to see if the LNB will give you an "S" reading, you don't have to be pointing at a satellite to get an "S" reading, this is an indication that the LNB is working and trying to send a signal down to the receiver.

One other thing, do you have an "S" reading on the receiver when one or the other LNB is connected?
Am getting a flux between 45-50. Is this good?
Terryl

That is good, as it shows that the LNB is still working, a zero "S" would mean that the LNB has gone south for the winter.
The fluctuation means that the receiver is trying to lock on a usable signal.
Did you use the old LNB and a short piece of coax?
Or is this on the new (old) LNB?

May be misunderstanding, used same coax just changed lnb's.

OK 45 to 50 means the LNB has not locked on a usable signal, but it does mean that the LNB is working.
What brand (who made it) and type of LNB did you use to replace the other one?
Also you can use a short piece of coax to check the other LNB to see if it will give you an "S" reading.

OK, retried the short coax straight from box to original dpp lnb w/dish, getting 85 s.

It sounds like a problem with the DiSecQ...I would try changing it.

Then that is a good indication that the LNB may be OK.
What happened to make you think that the LNB went bad?

"no signal" message and i checked attena settings on both sat's which showed no q and low s. and of course when switching channels all display no q and low s on the sat name icon.

Hummm .. I would have re-adjusted the dish, if there was a zero "S" signal then I would have looked at replacing the LNB.
Any "S" indication of 25% or more is an indication that the LNB is working, zero "Q" is an indication that the dish may have moved, was it windy when this happened?

was windy so i got my ssm-22 to re-adjust (which was right on the money).

This would indicate everything but the DiSeqC is working properly. Maybe as simple as checking the connectors going into it for continuity or shorts.

sorry, meant w/o dish only the lnb next to the box.
K, reinstalled dpp and am getting 95 s and q on 110, but on 119 only 95 s no q on all tp's of 119.

Did you try TP12231 on 119, it's a CONUS beam.

The easiest way to determine which -or both- of the two satellites one is receiving, and no decryption needed as they are in the clear;
Reception of channel 100 validates 110.
Reception of channel 101 validates 119.

Don't have that tp

Given that you had posted the same signal level for both previously led me to believe that you were only getting the one bird, and this confirms that.
Work on aligning your dish, using these two channels as the guide.
I would also verify that your cable and connectors are valid, since you have posted a variety of signal levels in this thread. It should have been uniform throughout, assuming that you were on the same bird and TP.

What is a got tp to lock onto 119 for alingment?
