Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya said in an interview to Televisa Deportes, conducted after Saturday's fight between Juan Manuel Marquez and Michael Katsidis, that he is willing to step aside with his company in order for Juan Manuel to secure a third fight with Manny Pacquiao. Golden Boy has a heated feud with Pacquiao's promoter, Top Rank.

''As president of Golden Boy Promotions, I want to make the fight between Pacquiao and Marquez. The problem is that [Top Rank CEO Bob] Arum doesn't want to make the fight if Golden Boy is involved," said De La Hoya.

''There is no way in the world that Pacquio or Arum will want a part of Marquez after watching this, they will hide, but like I said Golden Boy will stay out of the promotions because Arum doesn't want to do business with us. I will do it for Juan, because he deserves it. I won't be part of the promotion for that fight and let Top Rank do the full promotion.''

''Marquez is the best, simple as that. Pacquiao is the fight we want, and the fight that Mexico wants, and the fight the world wants. Marquez is better, is getting stronger at the higher weights, and is faster now. He is like old wine. And Pacquiao most face Marquez in order to get respect from the boxing world because they have unfinished business."

I would prefer to watch mosley or berto fight rather than marquez. All he proved last night is that he can get knocked out.If pacquiao connects they would still be counting.Marquez is too old now while pacquiao has improved so much since there last fight. He does not stand a chance.Jmo.

Bingo...That's what the business of boxing, and every other pro sport, is all about.

With all due respect,I don't know, lets ask Manny about that. Marquez is the only boxer that gave him a beating twice. Although he lost both fights by split decisions. That Manny is bigger now, no doubt about it, how he got so big, that is whats freaking Floyd out.

I have to agree with Fibroso,,, Lets face it, Marquez the only one to really give Manny a test. In fact had him really hurt.
I remember Manny saying after the second fight, that Marquez and himself are taking too much out of each other. Said he would not go for a third fight.
Plus,,,, as we discussed in another thread, Marquez is a small lightweight.
Small boned, cannot put on weight. That is why Mayweather toyed with him.
Manny too big now. Needs a legitimate welterweight in front of him... not a blown up one..
Remember the old boxing saying...
"A good big fighter, will always beat a good small fighter"

course there are exceptions.... but 90 percent true.
Think of Arguello and Pryor.... Pryor knocked him out twice.
